see what i did there... i think you did. We were discussing that its possible for someone to have a huge win loss ratio due to playing consistantly only with the same group of good players. Saying it's it's due to statistics... really... you think? That's like quoting laws of probability. If you drop a ball, it's possible it will fall up, however improbable. Yeah, that's a big part of it. You fail to consider the sheer number of people that play COD and the probability that a few of them will have ridiculously high streaks, because that's the way that the law of large numbers works. This isn't changed by the fact that skill is also a factor.

We aren't talking about streaks...my COD4 win streak was 47 in a row, my ratio was under 1.5.

Yes people can get on massive win streaks, but I call BS if you say your win ratio is 14:1.

The mere fact that if you back out you get a loss is a hinder on most peoples w/l ratio.

I know it is on mine. I can't play with bad playrs....I just can't. People who sit and camp during Domination...or just plain suck. This is why I like Xbox better than my new PS3. I use to be able to block players from ever having to play with them ...well put them on the "avoided" players list if they sucked. PS3 only blocks chat, I can still get thrown into a game with people who are hopeless to your cause...which most of the time I'll keep backing out until it gives me a new server to play in.

I was playing Domination the other day, and some guy got a nuke after only going 15 K and 0 D. Not only that it was set to go off after 14 minutes. It was the most confusing thing ever. Obviously hacking. I hate that bull**** because he had like 10 AC-130s as well. I don't understand why these servers/game companies don't work on **** like that happening more often.

I prefer the older games so much. None of my current top 5 favorite games are for a current-generation console; one of them, my #1 favorite, is on NES. Kings of the Beach, original Zelda, Mario 1-3, Demon Sword, Contra...the NES had some really good games, before game companies even knew what a good game was.

I canceled my WoW account to try out Gamefly...and within 12 hours my 360 got red-ringed. I've heard from multiple sources that sometimes the 360 just starts working again on its own, and I've seen instructions for taking it apart and fixing it. I've heard rumors that the RRoD seems to be caused by either the CPU/GPU overheating or by the MoBo warping due to the heat sink being improperly attached to the CPU/GPU, and the DIY instructions assume the latter. Mind you, I bought a refurbished console so it's not under warranty.

Since it's not under warranty, if it doesn't come back on its own (and I can't find someone to fix it cheap) I'm going to use it as a lesson in electronics. Meh.

Okay, so I'm not hallucinating when the other team has an AC-130 and their top guy has like 8 kills.

I think I played a game and a half with you today on MW2 Ryan. I was noob tubing it up on one of the maps .

well, ac130 and chopper gunners can sometimes come out of care packages.... but definitely not nukes.

Noob Tubers have been out in full force lately.

I'm just trying to get all the unlockes for each weapon.

In all honesty, the game is meant to have tubes, and if it didn't everyone would whine about the camping. Note how much the game encourages use of explosives- you get tubes at 10 kills, OMA refills tubes (after 3/4 seconds with OMA Pro), Danger Close makes them more deadly, etc etc. Just as tubing is a counter to camping, UMP silenced - lightweight - marathon is a counter to tubers...and then claymore - thermal snipes are a counter to "runaround" classes, and oma tubes are the counter to that, and so on.

I can't play Estate to save my life. I'm fine on most maps and am excellent on Favela, Skidrow and Afghan, but can't figure out Estate.

Yeah, that's me. I usually only bust out the noob tube in order to get back in the positive when I've had some bad K/D spread games. I don't use OMA with it though, just scavenger pro and danger close pro.

@malice: Oh, I see, well that explains the early ac130s and chopper gunners. The only killstreaks I usually use are UAV, counter-UAV or Predator Missile, and Pavelow (but rarely get it).

Has anyone played NHL 10 online before? Are the people that play online or are there some noobs as well? I don't want to waste my time getting blown out like 5-0 every game, haha.

@ cab: have you tried the 5-7-9 killstreak combo? Once you hit 5, you generally get the other two. Predator missle, killing 2 people, harrier strike, call in pavlow. I generally do predator missile, harrier, then go die to get danger close, and chopper gunner.

@ Tran: claymores don't stop runners they can move right past it before it explodes. Tubes are for anti camping, but OMA shouldn't reload them. Also, if they made blast shield a bit more effective, I can see it playing an important role in the game.

It should never matter how, exactly, someone wins, as long as they're not breaking the established rules of the game. Don't complain about them talking about their kd when they camped A because it's definitely brag-worthy. You didn't stop them. They won. PLAY TO WIN applies to all competitive games, not just magic

I see no issue with OMA reloading tubes due to the fact that it takes 3/4/5/6 seconds of not being able to defend oneself to restock with OMA (depending on how many times you've used OMA this life and whether or not you have Pro), so even reloading two tubes is dangerous. Besides, I find tubes themselves to be too slow. I'd much rather have a UMP or Vector and run around, or set up somewhere with my Red Dot + FMJ FAMAS and go to town on their spawn (especially effective in Highrise and Wasteland).

UMP: "If I miss because you're running faster than expected, I'll just cross my aim and catch you in the head anyway."
Propipe: "If I miss, it takes me a few seconds to reload, and I'm probably dead."
FMJ Famas: "I'm killing you through a wall!...until my ammo runs dry."
