I devoutly pray that some game company ressurects the X-Com series. I absolutely loved that game, and what they could do with it on the new consoles / pc's out there would be astounding. If i still had it, i would be playing xcom today.

I keep getting my rear kicked when I'm playing Gradius V.I know that those games are designed to be tough (and my reflexes are not that good at all), but this is a whole new level of awesome (although I need to find out if I can start from the 2nd loop because it will suck if I can't). I tried 7th Saga for a few hours and I had to stop. The grinding was just too much.

I've played much better games. I'm 4 hours into it and getting frustrated at the auto aim's bad habit of picking the target that will get me a bounty on my head instead of the target i need to kill for an immediate mission (note that, when these issues have come up, i've been looking straight at the target needed for the mission, and the one needed for the mission was closer than the other one). Free Roam just isn't worth playing to me, since I don't like PvP in games for which that's not the only purpose (so i'll do pvp in Tribal Wars cause it's pvp only, but not in, say, WoW or other MMOs). 4 hours of single player and 2 hours of multi, and I'm glad I only rented it. I won't touch the multi again, and I'll finish the single player story (unless targeting issues make me throw the disc) and be done with the game.

Does anyone have any general advice on how to beat the specials ops on veteran on MW2? I am having a hellish time trying to do most of them.__________________ -Schmitty 5th in Refs [184] in OH-IO (Catching up to xion_black) 2nd in Posts [5304] in OH-IO (Have a long way to go to catch Val)

Are there any particular ones you're having issues with? Some are just retardedly hard. I lost track of the number of times i had to retry the snowy airfield one... that was stupid.

I did that one in 2 or 3 tries, but it took me around 25 minutes, heh. A lot of them are much easier and not insanely difficult with a partner. I've done about half of them, but haven't even tried to do the one where you have to use knife/explosives to kill the juggernauts. I did the last one in the last set with my friend, it took us about an hour or so including retries. We hung out in one spot on the top deck where there is only one way in, it's through the building that is to the right once you go up the last flight of stairs. That description isn't very good, so hopefully you can understand what I'm talking about haha. __________________ "He knew suddenly that he was not going to escape. The knife/explosive one is easiest with a partner. Hide in that room in the far corner of the map with only one entrance and no windows. Have one person stand in the doorway facing out and the other crouching right next to him, against the dresser. The one in the doorway knifes out at the juggernauts. Every time he goes down, the guy in the room revives him. You continue this for about 10 minutes; the guy in the doorway prevents the juggernauts from getting into the room; the other one prevents the knife user from staying down long enough to get killed and fail the mission. This is the best way i've found to do this mission. I know of it because someone told Sammy (he streams on www.justin.tv/el_blanco_nino and plays 360, gamertag WhiteSammy) and he did it the first time.

MW2 has gotten worse lately for us PC users. The lag has become horiffic. It was never "good" but it seems that ever since the Steam re-do, it's gotten nearly unplayable 1/5 games.WTB hack for private servers. __________________ Quoth the Raven, "Nevermore"

The death of Namco Bandai is drawing near and the Tales series will most likely never see American soil again. Has the rift caused by ignorance and xenophobia grown this far?http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=397510 I remember the days when the success of Wizardry was running rampant all over Japan and it appeared that a rift of interest formed - only to appear to come back together again with the emergence of the internet. It appears that this rift is far greater now then it has ever been.

Yeah, I beat the snowy airfield one on Veteran by myself. I am trying to beat all of them on veteran:1.)I am having issues with the one in the Airplane graveyard. 2.)I am also having issues with the wave defense one in the city with the burger town/taco joint. Once my turrets get downed I get worked. 3.)The Estate one with juggernauts is kicking my ass. 4.)The timed explosives one inside the favela - just don't have enough time. 5.)Don't have enough time on the AC-130 one either. Tips for those would be great. __________________ -Schmitty 5th in Refs [184] in OH-IO (Catching up to xion_black) 2nd in Posts [5304] in OH-IO (Have a long way to go to catch Val)

The only good thing they make is the old Banpresto products like Super Robot Wars, and those haven't been too great recently either - taking the "Final Fantasy" approach of amazing graphics, not so amazing gameplay.

Some of their games that don't come to the US or sporadically come here are incredible. They are a great developer and a great influence in the anime community that continuously wins the award for worst. publisher. ever. Their biggest games have been doing terribly, but the Tales series has been getting better, not worse.

1) Haven't finished that one either 2) I always put my turrets way off to the side, that way guy shooting into your restaraunt don't hit the turret. I've had my turret survive almost until the end. 3) That one kicks my ass too. 4) I skip a lot of enemies. Do the right bomb first, and then head down the left path. I think I used the G18's as well for it. 5) The AC130 one i always finish with only a few seconds left. It came down to me running across an open field with the AC130 firing into the field.

I got Batman: Arkham Asylum from Gamefly. I admit that I like it. The story develops a little slowly for my taste, and I don't like the "Batman is bigger than everyone around him" but I can't really fault the game for either of those. That's what the universe is like in the comics, too.Overall it seems good. The combos are fluid and the stealth sections are well done. My one big complaint is that the "blue vision" (aka detective mode) seems annoying to turn on and off. I wish the game would just bring up the detective mode when it's relevant and leave it off when it's not. The next two games on my list are Assassin's Creed II and Zelda: Twilight Princess. I've seen evidence through reviews and friends that ACII an improvement over the original, and Twilight Princess is a Zelda game. Both seem like good reasons to play those games.

To all the X-COM fans out there, rejoice!Unfortunately, it is not a strategy game like the first three - it's a first person shooter. __________________ Stages of Death: Anger, Denial, Bargaining, Depression, Acceptance, Burial, Decay, Haunting, Revenge, Evil LaughOriginally posted by pyr0ma5ta: When in doubt, always go with the mom joke. First: I wasn't amused by Red Dead Redemption. I'm not a PVPer so Free Roam just made me rage, and I don't have enough friends with the game to do private free roams. Single player is made boring and frustrating by the following: 1) A story that's way too slow to develop. 2) A game world with not much going on (think GTA with a mile between each building). 3) Cougars.I canceled my GameFly subscription, am renewing WoW. BUT, IN OTHER NEWS: For those of you who are fans of the sadistically hard I Wanna Be The Guy games, someone has released the beta of a new version called I Wanna Be the Boshy. Boshy is the owner of justin.tv/boshytime, a specific channel on a site for streaming live video. It's essentially a tribute both to the IWBTG series and to Boshy in particular. Anyway, the beta can be found here: http://www.solgryn.org/ give it a try! It has co-op!

Why do you even play videogames if you dislike them seemingly nine out of ten times? It doesn't seem like a hobby worth pursuing if you get that little enjoyment out of it. This isn't meant as a troll question.
