While that is of course always a concern, there is a very, very low chance it will get stolen or broken into. But without my coverage without insurance, it's all on me. quote: Originally posted by choco man: You can talk with your insurance company. They might drastically lower your rate because of the circumstances.
If i store it with my insurance, i will still pay the full monthly rate as usual, but when i return, i will be eligible to receive 70% of it back. It's expensive name brand full coverage (Geico), so over 6-7 months i would probably be paying about $12-1400, which comes to $840-980 in a refund. Which is nice, but i think i'd rather be stingy. $60 a month isn't bad either, but the biggest risk/issue is if the bank could or would periodically check in on my ins company. I wasn't going to keep Geico after i come back since it's so much anyway.

Your bank can impose their own brand of insurance if you still owe on the car and cancel the insurance and they find out. That would be much more expensive. Most insurance companies have policies for stored cars at a fraction of the value but reduced or no coverage if it is damaged while being driven under this type of coverage. I'd check into it. I'd also suggest that you check into USAA coverage. They specialize in dealing with service members. Good luck and stay safe. Dave

Roommate bought a house 10 blocks south of here in Minneapolis. I am ridiculously excited to move with her and find yet another excuse not to buy one of my own.

Catching a double-feature at RI's only operating Drive-In theater tonight.$25 for the carload. First show is Brave, followed by the new Spider-Man reboot. The theater is the Rustic Drive-In, famous for having previously been an adult movie drive-in (complete with a *****-shaped sign, which is still prominently displayed on RI Rt. 146, a "major" state highway). Rustic current movie listings: http://www.yourneighborhoodtheatre.com/theaters.php?ID=7312 Picture of the sign and story of its status as an adult film drive-in: http://artinruins.com/arch/?id=stillinuse&pr=rusticdrivein If nothing else, it's an interesting read __________________ **I send in bubble mailer + top loader + soft sleeve**AtriumXP@gmail.com (e-mail/PayPal) I answer ref requests! I'm not sure how this doesn't end with you banging your sister's friend. Unless your sister is like a kid in which case I apologize.

Am I the only person that read that it was his sister that did that crap, and her friend-- that's a guy-- was a dick?Has anyone ever called a female a dick? Sometimes my wife calls me a dickhole, and my favorite retort is "hole dick!" That's about the best I can come up with... __________________ *My LJ*Letter Bombs!*Facebook*Logout- I had it second!*CKGB

I think people are assuming it was a girl because he said she forgot her bikini, but he doesn't make it clear if that was the friend or his sister.

I believe it was Patton Oswalt who best articulated the point, but... We don't need to respect other people's beliefs. That doesn't mean you should disrespect them purely because they're different, but if they're objectively harmful or asinine, then you're under no obligation whatsoever to respect them in the slightest. You have to acknowledge all other beliefs, but you do not have to respect them. Or, more pithily, "I have an uncle who believes he has seen Sasquatch. We do not believe him, nor do we respect him!"
