I took my van in to get an oil change today, the guy comes out and tells me this:

The person who put the back brakes on, didn't put them on correctly so they're not catching, just spinning around, so all my braking power is in the front of the car.

The person who put the front rotors on, put on very very bad ones that are going to go any day now. (This part I didn't understand, and still don't) He said that they put some metallic patch (or something, I forget exactly what he called it) on instead of a ceramic one (which is apparently the type the car needs). These rotors are apparently so bad that they are ... I don't know what to call it.. rubbing off onto my hubcaps and turning them all nice and black.

Those repairs would be $330, which I think is absurd for just changing a couple of rotors and putting the back brakes on correctly. I mean, do they like charge $250 for labor?? I know that rotors aren't that expensive, and the brakes themselves would probably be about $30.

Then he tells me that two of my brake lights are out, and that they want $25 to change them! Geez louise, I'll just go ahead and do that myself..

And, the finale, they couldn't give me my free tire rotation, because two of the lug nuts are like, fused on and they wouldn't be able to put the tire back.

Why do I always, always, always get screwed on cars? Even when it's a reputable (or so I thought) dealer? Why are there so many dishonest people out there? I guess that may sound funny coming from a BTA mod, I mean, if anyone knows that there are some pretty awful people out there, I do. But I've always tried to see the good in people. :-\

Now I'm scared to ever go get another oil change again!!

That's precisely why. Because if you go to the last page there are threads from 2001. And nothing gets deleted. So why does this surprise you?

Well, that's 11 years of posts. If you divide 3301/11=300.
So that's 300 BTA's each year. I think that's a lot. I know there is a lot of trading going on here but still.
