electrobee:: 1.land doesnt have a color 2. pls rephrase the question so I can understand it pls. 3. no its not true. 4. it'll deal damage to him.. then it'll redirected to your creature.. and your creature will live.. and they will take nothing.king masticore: yes the giant growth will counter itself reinhart: it totally depends how the attacker wants to assign damage.. but he at least has to assign enuff that would kill the blocking creature(s) before he can spill anything over to you. mageman: he has to declare it. key word to nether spirit.. you MAY return it he looses contamination. 2. depends really.. if it can affect how u shuffle and cut and draw.. yes... if its just a scratch.. I'd have to say no raker: library of leng deals with forced discard.. not discard as costs... so no you cant put discarded cards used as payment of cost back on top of the library. yawgmoth's lackey: sacrificing is usually a cost... when declared.. costs are paid.. therefore.. sacrificing is done before any response can be done to it. sure.. sac is the cost.. but taking your feeder is on the stack.. and will have to wait and resolve just like all other effects. degeneration_x: 1. yes 2. no (note.. you cant do anything on someone's untap STEP *not phase anymore*. first time you can play effects is on someone's upkeep.) 3. yes 4. guru is a program designed to teach new players how to play magic. master: payment is declared.. so he pays 10 (assuming he's at 20) for the first time.. and his life is already at 10.. if you disenchant the second in response, and he pays half again.. he pays half of his current 10.. which is 5.. which leaves him at 5.. note.. the payment of life as cost doesnt go on the stack.. only the effect of turning the enchantment to creature is on the stack. slim: here's what you do.. you block the 2/2 with the factory.. let damage go on the stack.... his creature is assigning 2 to the factory.. factory dealing 2 to his creature... then tap the factory to give itself +1/+1.. damage is dealt.. his creature dies as it took 2.. but factory will live since it now has a toughness of 3 and took only 2. davidian: you can kill the hydra.. but it wont stop the 5 damage coming to you... have a look in the rules.. section 402.6 there it says once an ability or effect is on the stack (removing fade counters to deal adamage).. removing the source (hydra) doesnt remove the effects/ability from the stack.. they will resolve as normal unless countered. kworb: well outside of combat.. this effect/ability has no use. your opponent can pump as much mana into the wall as he/she wants.. but this will only work during combat.. when the wall has legally blocked something... so this only works if used after declare blockers and before the end of the combat phase. swoll: plateau counts as a mountain selvaxri: yes.. if you cant draw when you are required to.. then you lose.. unless you got a way to prevent yourself from drawing.. or something that specifically says you dont lose from inability to draw. 2. I'll have to say you cant sac what you dont control. legolas: well.. I'll have to clarify this a bit.. he plays a goblin.. it resolves.. still main phase.. now.. its his priority to play spells and effects (you cant do stuff until you get priority..) and the next time you get priority is after he declares grenade onto the stack.. using the goblin as the cost of sacrifice.. so the lawbringer ability couldnt be used. as for answering.. I was hoping kevin would get to them.. as I'm quite busy with work.. I get home at 12 midnight everyday.. rhysticlynx: If the Cauldron leaves play, you can still play any spells it removed from the game as though they were in your hand. You just no longer have access to the mana you charged the Cauldron with. [D'Angelo 00/03/09] meblank: if done in reverse order.. you lose the creature as the snuff out would resolve before the cho-manno's blessing. ©

1) i control a creature. my opponent casts desert twister, targeting the creature. then, i soul sculptor the creature before the twister resolves. would the twister destroy the sculpted creature, since normally it could target enchantents, or will it fizzle because it originally targeted a creature, but that target is no longer a creature? 2) my opponent casts unmask. i cast misdirection on it. does my opponent look at his hand and choose a card to discard, or do i get to look and choose what he has to discard?

don't ever ask that question, it gets the mods mad. Leshrac chooses who become mods whenever he feels there is need for one. and since 6 new ones were announced not too long ago, he won't be needing any for quite some time.

I haven't read anything about this so I thought I'd ask...I have an opalesence and Paralax Wave out. It is upkeep and the wave has no counters on it. If I humble the wave before the counters(or as a fast effect of trying to remove one or whatever so it happens first) do the creatures it had removed come back because humble gives it no ability??

I have a question about Morphling. Now, I was playing this one kid who said he could pump the morphling's tougness above 6 and make the power negative, like a -1/7 or a -4/10, and then, in response, pump its power indefinately as well, because the toughness is so high. I thought this was BS. I thought you could never have a creature's power below 0. Maybe Im wrong. It didnt have an effect on the outcome of the game, but still I would like to know. I was under the impression that the morphling could only go to 5/1 or 0/6. I know you can make it 5/1 then pump it to 0/6 in response to save it during combat, but I thought this was a little out there.Thanks.

you think I got the mod job because I have 3 huge topics with lots of posts? wow.. you are thinking in the wrong direction. I'd assume I got it because I was well known and also a dependable trader. how many replies you can get within an hr on your first gen discussion topic doesnt get u a mod job. btw.. by asking you just shot yourself down.avenger: desert twister targets a perm 2. he looks at his own hand and discards. damankillaking: fade is on the stack.. if you cant remove a fade counter.. it is sac'd vellu: cave-in is a sorcery... fault line is fine. slim: about morphling.. for all purposes.. u generally treat negative power as 0.. however.. they are still the number they are.. say I pumped morphling to -97/103 now.. if you look at it.. its 0/103 however.. its still actually -97.. so if I tried to giant growth it.. it'd become -94/106 but the 0 is still looked at as a 0 ©

reinhart- yes, he can, A effect like bury, such as pillage would keep the core from regenerating, but destroy does not.Ok, I have a question now, still on the topic of sacrifice. If I cast Diabolic edict, can he do anything in response to it? like return his only creature to his hand, or something like that.. __________________ cmoore@visi.net

Yawgmoth's Lackey: Yes of course, he can do something in response, but he can't say "I sacrifice this creature and then return it to my hand."

If I have a creature getting targeted by Crooked Scales, when can I use my disenchant? Do I wait until after the coin is flipped and then use it or do i have to use the disenchant before he even announces use of scales or do i do it after tapping of scales and before coin is flipped? What if you have a Bargain and I call my Disenchant? Can you draw 5 cards in response or does the Bargain go after the first one? What if you call the draw and I disenchant in response?
Can you sack SCRAPHEAP to itself?

reinhart:You can Disenchant in response to him using Crooked Scales but the effect of Crooked Scales will still resolve. If you Disenchant first he can draw any number of cards in response, if he draws first you can Disenchant in response but then he can draw any number of cards in response to that again. When Scrapheap goes to the graveyard, you don't gain life.

Thanks for answering! Here's another question: My opponent casts Lightning Bolt. I play Mana Drain in response. He responds to my Drain with another Lightning Bolt. Can i cast Fork to copy my Mana Drain so i can counter both? Do i get one or two red mana in my next main phase? -Pekka __________________ Commander King Masticore, G.A.B. My opponent has an untapped wasteland out. I drop a gaea's cradle. Do i get a chance to tap the cradle before he wastes it with the wasteland? And another one: (this has really come up in a game, i'm not just trying to be a pain) I have a vesuvan doppleganger out. I play a clone, and declare that i'm coppying the 'ganger. Is the clone another vesuvan, or what the vesuvan was copying, or does it change to copy whatever the vesuvan copies? Then, (as you can tell someone really wanted to annoy me) he proceeded to clone his clone, and tap his doppleganger to copy the second clone. What happens? __________________ And the ignorant shall fall to the squirrels

Hears a tough one! What happens when you have 2 Opalesences and a Humility in your grveyard and you Replenish. Does Humility lose its ability to lose its ability over and over again?__________________ Pain is a crude way to enforce obedience, but it is cheap and plentiful -Volrath

I have an Overlaid Terrain in play. It reads "Lands you control have T:Add two mana of any color to your mana pool."Question 1: Is this an added ability (as I suspect), or a replacement ability? In other words, if I cast it on a Forest, can I choose to use the Forest's normal ability of "T:Add G to your mana pool" or whether to tap it for two mana? (I'm guessing I get to choose which mana ability I'm tapping for) Question 2: If this is played on a depletion land such as Hickory Woodlot, as long as I announce that I am tapping the Woodlot using the ability added by Overlaid Terrain, could I avoid removing the depletion counter and thereby prevent eventual sacrifice of the depletion land? (I'm guessing I can avoid removing depletion counters) Question 3: Do the "two mana of any color" mean I can pick one each of two different colors, or do I have to receive two mana of the same color? (I'm guessing I can pick two different colors). I'm beginning to think that this is a potentially awesome card in green multicolor decks. (or green of any sort)

If i play rancor on an opponent's Skulking Fugitive, will it be sacked before my rancor lands on it (as i declare target), or does it die when the rancor is placed on it?What if I try to play rancor and he counterspells? My rancor targeted it, right? So does it die?

what if i play psychic theft on MYSELF choosing time spiral, i then play the spiral, it is then removed from the game. Due to psychic theft, i can play the chosen card as long as it is removed from the game. if this is true, you could time spiral, untap, time spiral, untap, forever until you get the hand you want. please email me with the answer because i may not check this post.

Heres my question:I have 3 life at the start of my turn with Opalessence,Second Chance, Life line and a couple creatures in play. I sac the Second Chance to take another turn, does it come back at the end of turn since it is animated, creating infinite turns as long as I stay below the 5 life. Randy randykin@webtv.net
