if i shock my opponent's negator twice, can he sac off negator and something else to first shock, and thereby not sac off 2 to second shock?

also, if i have rhystic study out, and my opponent does not pay 1, when do i draw the card...it matters becaUSE i want to know if i can draw a counter, then counter the spell they didnt' pay for.

Sorry coolio... 2 more questions:

Can I only deal one damage to my opponent by blocking his Jackal Pup with a 6/6, or do I deal six damage?

Also, if I block a Jackal Pup with a 3/3 Whirling Dervish, because my Dervish damaged the opponent, it should get +1/+1, correct? Or does that not work because the damage was indirect?

krazykid1331: no
reinhart: no
skirge dies when you announce another creature spell onto the stack.
The triggered ability triggers when the creature spell is announced, and it put on the stack before any responses can be
played. This ability will resolve before that creature comes into play. [D'Angelo 00/01/02]

selvaxri: no matter how you stack it, you wont get creatures into play and keep them with those 2 cards.
defense of the heart ruling:
This triggered ability only triggers if your opponent controls 3 or more creatures at the beginning of upkeep. This
condition is checked again on resolution. [D'Angelo 99/05/01]

so if you stacked planar collapse to resolve before defense, then defense fails, if you stack planar collapse after.. then you lose your creatures as well.

mindcandy: white ward has a nice errata as do the other wards that the protection granted by them dont remove themselves.
in the case of a cho manno's blessing - white and you reverent mantara - white, blessing will fall off. blessing only protects itself from falling off from the protection itself gives. not anything else.
2. the yawg will and ritual combo I only heard of.. as I was not playing again till destiny came out last summer.
as for why it doesnt, yawgmoth will's effect is a replacement.. the ritual doesnt go the graveyard first then get removed as a triggered on the stack effect.
as for it being stupid for a reason from a judge, that is not a legitimate reason.
tho them ruling it doesnt work is all they need to say technically.. I find that reason very lacking.
as for waylay.. they added something that should have been part of the cards original text... play only during combat.

da-odd-templar: of course.. the shocks are stacked, he sac's to the first one then you can resolve the second shock.. if negator is still there.
2. it goes on the stack as usual.. on top of their spell.. so you draw before their spell resolves.

goaswerfraiejen: 1. you'd have to assign all 6 damage to the pup and 6 gets dealt to your opponent.
2. the damage is actually dealt by the pup.. so your dervish dont get the +1/+1

Do you die if you can't draw any more cards when your forced to, if it's not your draw phase?

I was wondering because i was playing on microprose magic game vs comp and i had 5 cards left in my library, then i cast wheel of fortune during my main phase for fun, and i died. i didn't know you could die unless it was your draw phase.

I was just wondering something...

1. If I had a Jolrael, Empress of Beasts and Mageta the Lion out and I used Jolrael's ability to turn all my opponents lands into creatures, could I use Mageta's abality to kill all the land/creatures? If you need it explained more just ask.

2. If I put Barbed Wire on my opponents land, would only he be able to tap it or caould I also?

I have a few questions:

I have a creature out and my opponent has a Dominating Licid. If I attack, can he grab it before it does combat damage?

Lets say I have out Ticking Gnomes, and I decide to sacrafice it to do one damage to one of his creatures. Can he as a fast effect disenchant it, and the damage wont go through? What if he disenchants it first, then I sacrafice it, do I get to do the damage?

I will think of more and post them later. Thanks!

Windfall is played, 4 cards are to be drawn.
Both players have 2 cards left in their libraries. Who wins? Draw?

What if someone has 3 cards and the other has 2?

If i had two furnace of raths and my opponent plays a ball lightning. He then declares his attack with just the ball lightning. I dont have any creatures to block. How much damage do I take? I say 24. He says that one furnace doubles it to 12 then the other furnace doubles it to twenty four. He says that then the first furnace relizes that dmaage is being delt and doubles it again thus creating an infinant doubling of damage. Who is right? If neither of us then how much damage would i take?

A couple more questions about misdirection...

1. If you misdirect a quash, do i get to look for all the other misdirects and remove them from the game?
2. If someone midirects a Rystic Syphon to you, can i pay 3 to stop the effect?
3. If i can't pay the 3 and i am at 3 life. Do i die or stay alive with 5 life?
4. If counterspell and misdirection are already on the stack, and i counter again, and he misdirects that counter to the first one. Would everything be countered???

Thanks for your time.

ryezero1: Both players draw cards at the same time. [D'Angelo 99/08/31]
If both players run out of cards during this effect, the game is a draw. [D'Angelo 99/08/27] See Rule G.20.1.

gerrard: you lose at anytime if you are forced to draw but cant.

blackstorm: yes, however you lose all your creatures except mageta as well.. however the loss is a bit more devesating for your opponent.
2. I'm assuming you mean Barbed Field. the enchantment only gives the ability to the land. you are not the controller of the land and therefore cant use its abilities.

mackbo: 1. yes
2. no he cant disenchant it after you've announced the ability simply because sacrifice is a cost, by the time you've announced the ability, costs have been paid.. ticking gnomes are no longer in play. damage will still go thru as it is on the stack. rule 402.6 in the rulebook should explain why.
if he disenchants it first, disenchant is on the stack, you have plenty of time to respond by sacing the gnomes to do damage.

robopork: game is a draw
game is still a draw

pidgeon: you take 24. the furnaces only trigger once, the fact they resolve one at a time results in the 24 damage.
damage is being dealt. 6 by ball lightning, furnaces trigger.. first one to resolve dbls the damage to 12.. second resolves and dbl yet again to 24.
note - we try to remove infinite loops from the game since those create draws.

magic1246: 1. it'd depend what you misdirect the quash to... if you misdirect the quash to the misdirection... then quash is countered as misdirection is no longer on the stack when quash tries to resolve.
2. not sure.. but for now I'll have to say yes.
3. I'm assuming you are the caster of rhystic syphon, you dont die in the middle of a spell.. SBE are checked when a player next gets priority. you'll go back to what you were before
4. all right.. so lets see.. counterspell is on the stack targetting something.
misdirection is on the stack targetting the first counterspell..
counterspell 2 is on the stack targetting the misdirection..
mind you.. counterspell 2 will resolve first countering the misdirection.
you cant have misdirection target something that came on the stack AFTER it.

Thanks for the info. I have another question.

If I use Jolrael, Empress of Beasts ability and turned my opponents lands into creatures, could I target them with Rhystic Deluge, Waterfront Bouncer, Thrive, Alexi, Zephyr Mage? Thanks!!

I have a couple of questions.

First - with necropotence, lets say I have 4 cards in my hand and I get 5 with necro, putting me up to 9 cards, do I have to discard down to 7 before my opponant gets his turn?

Second - I have a phyrexian Processor and a Nevy's Disk in play. How can I work it that the disk goes off, yet I get to keep my token.

Like this? - I make a token, but respond to that with the disk. The disk goes off, but then the ability of the processor kicks in and my token pops into play.

Also with the processor, if I play one, and it gets countered, do I still lose the life?

I didnt think so, because it says when it comes into play...not when its being cast.
Just clarifying there.

Thanks.

I stumbled on a good question.

Ok lets say I was playing a white wienie deck, and I have a crusade out. My opponent plays a Humility and he says everything is a 1/1. However seeing that the Crusade is out there, I think it should be a 2/2. What do you think? (This isnt my question, it is just something I saw someone post up)

I have another question...

If I were to play a spell like Port Inspector and my opponent were to Counterspell it, could I use Misdirection on the Counterspell and have the Counterspell target the Misdirection?

hello! i have a question, its been bothering me all day.

i was playing rebel burst at a local MBC tourny today and i had a problem

i had a saproling burst(7 counters), paralax wave (5 counters), and 2 spidersilk armors in play.

he trys to dienchant the saproling burst, in response i put 5 2/2s into play and remove them all with the wave.

at my next upkeep, i sac the wave. now, since there is no burst in play, will the tokens stay there as 0/2 or will they die?

thanks in advance

I have War Tax out, and have paid 3U to activate it. My opponent attacks, then plays Relentless assault. Does he have to pay 3 for each attacking creature again, or is it already paid for (for the creatures that were in the first attack, anyway)

Thanks

hrmm *wondering where guenhwyvar and strategest are*

anyways.. on with the answers

blackstorm: yes

slim: yes.. you discard at cleanup step in the end phase... which is before your opponent's next turn.
you stack the processor first.. then stack the disk.

fyrecrow: it depends how you cast things
if you cast humility second, then they are 1/1's if you cast crusade second then they are 2/2's

maddmatr: yes tap all lands you control is part of the effect.

blackstorm: yes.. that's how misdirecting a counterspell works

master: the tokens dont come back.. token creatures ceases to exist once they leave the play zone.

orinn: If a creature has a cost that must be paid in order to attack or block, it need only pay once to attack in any other
combats that turn. [WotC Rules Team 97/03/14] This is true even if the wording on the card makes it sound
otherwise.

I have an Elvish Lyricst and he plays parallax Wave a few turns later. If he tries to remove my elf can I destroy his wave? what if I try to destroy before he starts removing tokens?

What if I have tokens? Parallax Wave says bring all CARDS back. Do tokens just die?

What if I having Living Terrain on my forest and my oopponent uses Parallax TIDE on it? Will the Living Terrain enchantment fall into the graveyard?

axel Gunarson: Yes the creatures will come back, and stay. since they were removed from the game the end of turn effect doesnt trigger. they will come back like happy little campers.

reinhart: If you have an active elvish lyrest, yes you can sac it to 'disenchant' his wave. he has a chance to respond, but you must understand also, that he can't remove your elvish lyrest since sacraficing the lyrest is part of the activation cost. he can respond and remove other creatures, which will go away permanently (IF THEY ARE TOKENS- in response to ?#2) other wise they come back like normal and have summoning sickness (unless they have haste).
question three: He can tide your land, and you will lose your enchantment. (into the graveyard that is)

Blind202: Yes he can. You can also counter a blastoderm, even though its untargettable. since the 'untargetability' doesnt take effect until the creature is actually 'in play'.

I hope I answered your questions, correctly I might add, feel free to email me about any more. I try not to use 'judge' language when answering questions, since it just confuses people.

Lifeline states that whenever a creature is put into a graveyard from play and another creature is in play put the creature into play at eot.
Does this mean if i discard a creature card and another creature is in play my creature comes into play at the eot?

Poston: No, "When a creature is put into the graveyard from play" Means the creature has to be IN PLAY first. A card in your hand is NOT in play. If you discard a creature card, it will NOT come back. Hope I helped.
