Selvaxri - What kind of combo is Lich/Necropotence? You are at zero life so you can't draw any cards... Lich just ruins Necro. Lich/Ivory Tower might be worthwhile

um why was this on the second page?

when i use norrits ability to force target creature to attack, does that mean that that creature must attack some time this turn or what? does the creature die after or during the attack phase? if so what if someone played a relentless assualt? if not when does it die?

If I use norrits ability to force target creature to attack (it is tapped) does it die at the end of the attack phase of the combat phase? if so before or after blockers could be beclared? also if so what if someone played a relentless attault and somehow untapped it could it attack then to save itself from going to the grave yard? Can i use norrits ability on my turn to target one of my opponents creatures so that during his or her next turn he or she must attack with that creature (ie: I ping your norrit for one, in responce i tap to use norrits ability)???

OK, (ready for some Extended?)...
I have a question about Cataclysm.

If I have 2 Artifact Creatures in play when Cataclysm resolves, can I keep one as my Creature and the other as an Artifact?

I read the ruling summary at Crystalkeep and it sounds like I can, but they've had misinformation before so I just want to be sure.

With Lich can't you pay any amount of life because it doesnt matter? Maybe you can pay half your life...

Selvaxri: The hippo will stay in play because it is no longer green.
Lich-necro in not a worth while combo because the activation of necro is pay a life and according to the rules you can not pay life which you do not have (EX: If you have 2 life you can not hatred for 3).
G.19.6 - If a spell or ability allows you to pay life points to get some effect, you cannot pay more life points than you have. If you already have zero or less life points, you may not pay for any spell or ability which requires a payment or 1 or more life points. [CompRules 99/04/23]

grez: Yup, you get the lands back because the effect that makes you put them in the graveyard is the wildfire which your opponent controls.

I am assuming you are at one life for the second question. The earthquake damage is dealt simotaneously to you and the elf and since you control the elf at that time you stay at one life and the elf dies. I believe that is how it works... but I am only 99% sure, not 100%

Magic1264: Well lets look how it all goes on the stack. First the death is on the stack. You then add the druids ability.
Right now we have:
1st death
2nd Druid
Then the stack resolves starting with the last ability on the stack, the druid in this case. You whole library goes away and in the process a gaea's blessing goes too. Since the gaea's blessing has the triggered ability when it goes in the graveyard it now triggers and is on the stack.
Now we have:
1st death
2nd gaeas'
The blessing's ability now resolves and shuffles your graveyard into your library, then the death resolves not helping you all that much.

dans135: Umm... are you sure you read the rules summary on the cataclysm?
Here is one of the rules for it:
If you control a permanent with more than one type, you can choose that permanent to be the representative of either type. This makes it possible to have more than one creature (or other permanent type) in play. For example, if you select a Scryb Sprite for your creature and a Brass Man for your artifact, you get to keep both of these creatures. [D'Angelo 98/07/23]

That was easy enough

GogettaEX: Nope, you can only pay life which you have. With lich and necro that means you just don't get any cards from your draw or necro

Imagenyuss: Well I would answer your questions but they are too long and drawn out. Maybe if you simplify them a little I would answer them. I have home work to do right now so I don't wanna answer the 10 in one questions you ask. Sorry.

An easy one, but I need to know for sure. If I have a 2/2 with 2 Armidillo Cloaks on it, when I attack, do I gain 12 life or just 6? Thanks in advance.

I added the correct answer down below. I try to read questions carefully but I was in a hurry that day.

What happens when you Replenish in 2xEnchant Worlds?
Living Death in 2xLegends with the same name?

Xellos:
K.17.2 - Only one legendary permanent of a given name can be in play at a time. If a legendary permanent enters play when another legendary permanent of that name is already in play, the new one is put into its owner's graveyard. If more than one of the same name enters play at the same time, then all of them are put into their owner's graveyards. This is done as a state-based effect (see Rule T.11). [CompRules 99/04/23]

Keep those questions coming, this if fun

This is a little queer, but like I dont really understand the Legend Rule....im not sure if its like there can only be one Legend in play at once, or there can be like 10 Legends in play, but with all different names. If its the 1st one, it doesn't make sense...Legends aren't that strong...

so according to all reason, it should be the 2nd one, there can be Multani, Sisay, Hanna, Dromar in play at once. But if another Multani comes into play, its immediately destroy. Like wouldn't you freak if another of YOU walked into the room? thanks

I have some tornament questions...
1.Are you now forced to play with cases at PTQ's, and higher or equal events?
2.When are the JSS dates???!!! (all I want is a link or something )
3.If I have an all artist proof deck, is it tornament legal?
4.Can I Bind an illegal target?
5. If I have Spirit of Resistance out and I am at 2. If I use Destoring Lens on a card to make my 5th color (so I have all) can my opponenet shock me in reponce to the lens and reduce my lifetotal bellow one thus ending the game?
6. When is Ice Age block and Duels going out of extended?
7. Can I force my opponent to shuffle for one minute and then shuffle their deck for one minute when I use Soilder of Forutune? Would you consider this as stalling, and give me a warning if the point of my deck was to stall??? (LOL I want an awnser to this question Your gonna see a deck called PTQ&UDraw.DEC)
8. If I beat my opponent 1st gam, and time is called second, do I go on with 3 or 6 points?

da-odd-templar.. sorry to say you lost yer bet.. all the lvl 3's and all the lvl 2's and the lvl 4's I got to ask all said the same thing.. idol dies

m24nirvana: he has to pay another 8 on top of the BB
and yes.. if you are wondering about misdirecting an urza's rage you can do that yes

ragemonkey: the legend rule specifically only says if another legend with the same name came into play

thefirestarter:
1. no.. actually worlds is required to be played without sleeves
2. www.wizards.com (on the top bar go look for tournaments)
3. artist proofs are not tournament legal.. in sleeves or not
4. no
5. shock resolves first.. you die
6. dont know
7. I'd have you thrown out of the tournament and write a report about **** poor sportsmanlike conduct.. and tho we shouldnt be mentioning names in our article we submit.. I'll be sure to put it in bold
and yes its stalling.. and I'd try my best to get you suspended for a good while.
8. you win the match 1-0 and is awarded the 3 points for the match

I have a Saproling Burst in play with a Saproling token in play from
Volrath's Laboratory. When my Saproling Burst is Disenchanted, does the
Saproling token from Volrath's Laboratory die as well?

da-odd-templar: Doh, I was in a hurry that day because I just realized I was ½ an hr late for my ride home.

flacosombroro: Sorry about that. I was in a hurry (see above, hehe). The creature would be a 6/6 dealing 6 damage and each cloak would let you gain 6 life... result is 12 life. The gain life is a triggered ability that triggers when the creature deals damage. For only one cloak to work it would have to be a replacement ability that said "when ever enchanted creature deals damage, instead..."

grez:
SAPROLING BURST
4G
Enchantment
Fading 7 #(This enchantment comes into play with five fade counters on it. At the beginning of your upkeep, remove a fade counter from it. If you can't, sacrifice it.)#
Remove a fade counter from Saproling Burst: Put a green Saproling creature token into play. It has "This creature's power and toughness are each equal to the number of fade counters on Saproling Burst."
When Saproling Burst leaves play, destroy all tokens put into play with Saproling Burst. They can't be regenerated.

That should answer that question. On another note, saproling burst only destroys the tokens put into play by that saproling burst, it doesn't destory saprolings put into play by other saproling bursts.

The sacrificing permantents is a triggered ability of negator and happens when negator is dealt damage. If the damage done to him is enough to kill him then he dies before the sacrificing of permanents due to:

11.5 - The state-based effects are: [CompRules 99/11/01]
c) A creature with lethal damage (see Rule K.10.4) (which does not also have zero or less toughness) is destroyed. Regeneration can replace this event. [bethmo 99/07/27]

T.11.6 - Unlike triggered abilities, state-based effects do not pay attention during the resolution of a spell or ability. They only check when a player is about to receive priority. This makes them very different. [CompRules 99/04/23]

The negator dies but before he is placed in the graveyard his ability triggers and you must sacrifice five permanents other than negator since he is already in the graveyard by the time his triggered ability resolves.
(I know I may have come off unclear on this but I explained it the best I could)

Say I have Opalesence, Angelic Chourus, and Pandemonium in Graveyard and I replenish.

Do i gain 9 life and deal 9 damage to target creature/player or have to wait for a creature to come into to play. Also, if i play an enchantment from hand, do I gain/deal life/damage?

Thanks...

If you replenish a treachery, it attempts to go on morphling, if you make it "can't be target of spells or abilities", does treachery fizzle???

Squirrel o Yawg:
E.3.2 - A card which says "Whenever <description of a class of permanents> comes into play, do <something>" setup up a static ability (see Rule A.3) that lasts as long as this card is in play and watches for anything matching the description. A card with this ability can trigger on itself entering play or on anything that enters play at the same time this card enters play. [CompRules 99/04/23] For example, if two Mogg Bombers enter play simultaneously due to Living Death, both Mogg Bombers will trigger.
I believe that would account for replenishing the enchantments into play and you would get to deal 9 damage and gain 9 life... but not 100% sure... lets see if coolio has anything diferent to say about this.

T.8.12 - A continuous effect affects permanents as soon as they enter play. For example, if Blood Moon is in play and a non-basic land is played, the land enters play as a Mountain. It does not enter play as its original type and then change. [CompRules 99/04/23]
Hence you would gain the life and deal the damage if those cards were in play and you played an enchantment.

Magic1264:
G.28.5 - If a local enchantment is being put into play without playing it from your hand, the player putting it into play chooses a permanent for it to enchant right before it enters play. If there is no legal permanent for it to enchant, it remains in the zone it was in. [CompRules 99/11/01]
Note: No mention of the word target

G.40.1 - A spell or ability is targeted if (and only if) it uses the word "target" in its card text. [D'Angelo 98/02/03] When in doubt, read the card.

G.40.2 - There is one exception to Rule G.40.1, Local enchantments target the permanent they are being placed on at the time they are played even though they do not use the word "target". [D'Angelo 98/02/03]

G.28.1 - A spell or ability may instruct you to put a card into play. This is not considered to be "playing" or "casting" that card for any reason. You do not pay any costs which are paid when playing the card. [D'Angelo 98/02/03]

Er.. I think from all those rulings you can see that the treachery doesn't actually target the creature as it comes into play from a replenish... at least I hope you can see that
