Well.. I don't really have a question, I just wanted to be the 100th post But I guess since I'm here, uhhh..., ummm... can you use the misprinted Cursed Scroll-(Japenese one) to cast by tapping only 2 since it says that or do you have tap 3? I think I know the answer, I think you'd have to tap 3 but not 100% sure.

ElvenTrader412: No, you can not do this since the niether spirit only triggers once at the beggining of your upkeep and only if it is in your graveyard at the beginning of your upkepp. If the spirit is put in your gravyard anytime during your upkeep it is too late, hence it has to be in the graveyard before you untap or its ability will not trigger.

Ertai4: If you don't have a question then don't post for the sake of posting and then make up a question you know the answer to. These posts have enough spam as it is.
You must activate the scroll using three mana of course.

base-element: If they have one creature then you separate all of their creatures into two piles. IN this case it would be one creatue in one pile and zero in the other. They then choose which pile to sacrifice (the one creature or the zero creatures). Which is the obvious chose? The sac zero creatures of course, so you do nothing

Base-Element-
If you attack with 3 blastoderms and he has a crawlspace only one of the blastoderms can attack because the crawlspace is not targeting it.

Well here's a test question from the last ruling post:
How many Scyrb Sprites does it take to block and kill a Sengir Vampire with first strike?

There, caquaa

When I have a Nether Spirit and a Pyre Zombie in my graveyard. And in my upkeep I pay my Pyre Zombie's activition cost to take it back to my hand. Goes Nether Spirit then in play or did Nether Spirit only check at the beginning of my upkeep and don't go into play?

RhysticLynx-
It would take 8... i think....

Jochen Cobussen-
You could but not in the way you said. You would have to put the nether spirit on the stack and in response return the pyre zombie. When the spirit resolves it find that it is the only one and comes back. (Coolio, correct me if i'm wrong.)

ILG4E999-dude, coolio has asked this before and he will tell you again, don't answer questions unless you are sure you know the answer. even then, he doesn't like you answering them. you already got the one about the crawlspace and the scryb sprites one wrong...

so from now on, just leave the answering to caquaa, coolio, guenhwyvar, and anybody else coolio gives an ok to.

btw...if you really wanna know, it takes 12 scryb sprites

ok man, sorry. I just wanted practice. i guess i need to check up on my rules more. As a question on the vampire one, how come? it deals leathal damage to four, yes, but they arent in the graveyard yet. They don't go there until end of combat, correct?

base-element: The answer is interesting. If they catch you attacking with three right when you attack then you simply have to choose one not to be attacking because only two creatures can attack that player. If it is caught on the next turn or after combat stuff is over then you just ocntinue with the game, however a warning will probably be issued (I git one for forgetting about crumbling sanctuary ).

RhysticLynx: Yup, da-odd-templar got it right. 12. Four would die imediatley, then it would take four more to kill the 8/8 vamp. However, I doubt this could ever happen... no more than four of each card

Jochen Cobussen: The spirit only triggers at the beginning of your upkeep if it is the only creature. At the beginning you would have two creatures so it would not trigger... you would have to get the zombie out that turn, then the spirit would come back the next turn.

Kung_Fuscious: You can put a lot of the abilities on the stack, however as soon as the first one fails it dies... you can respond to the ability after it already resolves.

ILG4E999: As da-odd-templar said, don't answer questions unless you have coolio's permision... and since you have gotten those two wrong I doubt you can get his permision (it will confuse people to have too many wrong answers on the post).

BRING IT ON!!! Answering questions is fun

I will answer your challenge.

1) If I attack with a Cho-Arrim Bruiser, and choose to tap his royal assassin, can he in response tap it to destroy my bruiser? Or does the tapping not go on the stack?

2) If a player is damaged by a hyppie, when do they discard? When the damage goes on the stack, or when it resolves?

3) Does the Time Vault/Voltaic Key/Unstable Mutation/Giant Fan combo work?

4) I have a Multani's Presence out. I cast Might of Oaks on my creature, in response he terrors it. Do I draw a card for my Might of Oaks w/o a target?

5) If I have a Moat and Mystic Decree in play, can any creatures attack under any circumstances?

6) Does a thermal glider w/o flying take damage from an earthquake?

That's about all I can think of now...

EDIT: Typos.

Jochen Cobussen: No, every thing checks at the beginning then you can play fast effects. If the condition isn't met when it checks then it will not happen.

EDIT: razor2sharp: I didn't answer your questions because those are not questions which you actually need the answer to. Look at Jochen's question, that is something some one might encounter in game play and need answers to. Sort of like I, along with coolio, will not answer replenish + oplaecense questions. It is just a waste of time because you are just trying to find a question which you think can not be answered.

Actually, I'd really like to know the answers to numbers 2 and 6. They have actually come up in a game that I played. I realize the others were a tad absurd, but could you answer these ones please?

2) If a player is damaged by a hyppie, when do they discard? When the damage goes on the stack, or when it resolves?

6) Does a thermal glider w/o flying take damage from an earthquake? In other words, do creatures with protection from a given colour take damage from spells or abilities of that colour that are not targeting them like pestilence, earthquake, etc?

Also, in regards to #4 (might of aoks that does not go through because he terrored target, but multani's presence is out) would I draw a card? I think I heard that in 6th edition rules, spells no longer fizzle, but are themselves countered. Could you please clear this up for me should the question of the wording ever arise? Thanx

sorry coolio, but you haven't been on in a while and i was looking thru crystalkeep anyway.

razor2sharp, in reference to question #6, i hope this answers your question:

A.24.Ruling.2 - Untargeted spells and abilities which do damage will assign
damage to the creature, but that damage will be prevented by benefit
number one so the damage is never actually dealt. For example,
Pestilence cannot damage a White Knight. The ability is untargeted,
but the damage is prevented. [D'Angelo 99/05/01]

This is a really wierd question that has a lot of opinions

I made the deck list of a really nifty November 1st T2 100 card deck. But my friends think that it isnt sanctioned legal because of it's size... So if u could jsut tell me if there is a legal size of a t2 deck and if so wut.

is playing a spell the same as succesfully casting a spell? or is playing a spell just the act of fulfilling the mana cost and all other as you play this spell costs. i dont want to give away the circumstances because this could make or break a certain deck. please email me with the answer.

razor2sharp: Okay, I will answer these, but some of those others were ridiculous... hehe.

2
C.1.Ruling.3 - The combat phase can be mapped in a longer form like this:
1. Triggers on "beginning of combat", then chance for instants.
2. Declare attackers.
3. Triggers on attack declaration, then chance for instants.
4. Declare blockers.
5. Triggers on block declaration, then chance for instants.
6. Assign combat damage (but don't deal it yet)
7. Chance for instants.
8. Deal combat damage.
9. Triggers on damage being dealt, then chance for instants.
10. Triggers on "end of combat", then chance for instants.

From that clarification of the combat phase you can see that the hyppie ability goes on the stack at the beggining on #9 to which you can still respond.

6)
A.24.2 - Creatures (or other permanents) with this ability have four benefits: [CompRules 99/04/23]
1. Prevents all damage from <something> sources.
2. Cannot have <something> creatures assigned to block it.
3. Cannot be targeted by <something> abilities and spells.
4. Cannot be enchanted by <something> enchantments.

The damage is prevented due to benifit #1.

4)
Quote from crystalkeep:
Multani's Presence
Text(UL): Whenever a spell you play is countered, draw a card.

Will trigger when a spell is countered due to all of its targets being illegal. [D'Angelo 99/05/01]

killjoy72: Although coolio has not been on in a few days, I have been on every day.

MIRKOO420:
D.13.5 - Minimum of 60 cards in a deck. [Tournament Rules 10/01/97]
You can have as many as you wish, however there is a minimum of 60 in all constructed formats (well in T1, T1.5, T1.X, and T2).

beefcake679: The term succesfully cast is no longer used. All cards that say "when ever you succesfully cast a spell" or something of that nature are now changed to "when ever you play a spell". You should check crystalkeep for exact wording on cards or next time post with a specific example. Don't worry, if it is a good deck idea some one else has already thought of it... if they haven't then the deck will suck.

Caquaa, not necessarily (on the new deck idea thing). It took people a lil while longer than usual to figure out Necro (I remember when it was a dollar card, AND I remember busting an Ice Age pack and being dissappointed I got a Necro instead of a Cap, lol).

Ah, the good ol' days when people weren't building decks with cards not even released yet =)

SickOfItAll: Yes, I believe necro was the exception... However, in todays environment there are a lot of good players who keep an eye out for broken cards/ combos. When necro first came out there wasn't as many tourney players as there are now. It is very very hard for good cards to slip through our grasps. Even if not every one knows about a good card/ combo, there are many who do and are waiting for the right time to show every one it (ie tangle wire, masticore, etc). It just takes a little time for the good cards to surface... the people who are going to discover great cards in a new set would have discovered any that are in invasions by now... whether they tell any one is up to them (I still have a few cards I like that I am not showing any one why).

I have a question. If I have an Ascendant Evincar in play and I cast a Conspiracy and I say Mercanaries is Ascendant Evincar now a Mercanary or a Legendary Mercanary. Is it the same with a Priest of Titania if I make it a legend does it become an Elf Legend or just a legend? Can you email me the answer?

Vegeta19: Conspiracy makes the creatures of the type you name, it doe not add that type to the creatures. If you name mercenaries then your evincar is a mercinary (my spelling is horrible) and no longer a legend. If you name legends then your elf is a legend, not an elf legend. With conspiracy you can only name one typr though so elf legend would not be a valid choice if you wanted it to be that. If you could the I would name goblin merfolk elves and play the lords of all three, hehe.

About the e-mail: Every one else comes back to this post so you can too. We don't do e-mails here (besides, it is too time consuming because I have free mail). Just bookmark this post

If my opponent taps a land for many, can I use a port, icy, ring of gix, etc. to tap the land before it produces mana?
