hey, i hate to bother you with this, but what happens when I cast parallax dementia on a chimeric idol...my friends have a bet going, i say that the idol lives because he is not a creature when it falls off, but they say what you said, that it dies, just like soul sculptor/sneak attack thing.so...what is it? edit: FIRST POST BABY!! __________________ Stinky cheese is still cheese.

Well coolio said I can help.. and I tried to before but after 20min of answering a lot of questions I hit submit and it never did I will try again da-odd-templar: Hmm... I dunno. If coolio doesn't get you an answer by tommorow morning I will look it up. I am sure I can find a rules quote in an hour I have spare. fatman: 1. LIVING ARTIFACT Whenever you're dealt damage, for each 1 damage, put a vitality counter on Living Artifact. At the beginning of your upkeep, you may remove a vitality counter from Living Artifact. If you do, you gain 1 life. It is nota replacement effect so every living artifact would get a counter. 2. Dunno if there has been an eratta but here is the oracle wording on exploration: EXPLORATION You may play an additional land each of your turns. So I guess the answer to your question is no. 3. SPIRIT MIRROR At the beginning of your upkeep, if there are no Reflection tokens in play, put a 2/2 white Reflection creature token into play. 0: Destroy target Reflection. The ability only triggers if there are no reflection tokens in play so you would have to destroy it before your upkeep step which would be on your opponents turn. FYI: There is an enchantment in invasions that makes reflection tokens.. this may make a fun deck. mkl: YAWGMOTH'S WILL Until end of turn, you may play cards in your graveyard as though they were in your hand. If a card would be put into your graveyard this turn, remove that card from the game instead. This card allows you to play cards as if they were in your hand. Cards discarded actaully have to come from your hand. You can't discard cards from your graveyard even w/ the will. reinhart: GIANT GROWTH Target creature gets +3/+3 until end of turn.Since the effect lasts until end of turn it wears off during your opponents cleanup step were fast effects are not alowed. What you are thinking of is "at end of turn" which is very different from "until end of turn" because at end of turn efects wear off during the end of turn step where players can play fast effects allowing a card which has an "at end of turn" effect to be played after the "at end of turn" effects have already been put on the stack. Since the "at end of turn" effects only trigger once then they have to wait until the next end of turn step which happens to be not until the next turn so you could do things like the waylay and thawing glacier.. that is why those cards have erattas Well LMK how I did coolio. I am thinking of taking my lvl 1 judge test soon. Any advice you could give me or info about the test(s). LMK. Thanks.

King_fuscious - It brings the card back even if the card was a creature only due to a spell or ability. It comes back as if newly cast, however. [WotC Rules Team 98/10/18] So yes the lands would come back, all but the last one anyways. Assuming that is that your opponent had no creatures in play. If he has even one creature in play, then all of your lands would come back.

If I have an unstable shapeshifter in play and I play a vesuvan doppelganger, does the unstable shapeshifter keep both abilities? Similarly, if I have a vesuvan copy the unstable, is it stuck with both abilities? This is one of the few things that doesn't seem to be clarified in the card rulings. Does anyone know?

If I tap two norrits targeting the same creature will that creature just die?WHen i tap norrit does that automatically bring them to the attack phase or does norrits ability mean that that creature must attack some time this turn? Imagenyuss: 2 Norritt's targeting one creature will have no more effect than 1 norritt. When the creature attacks it fulfill's the requirements put on it by both Norritt's. And no, it doesn't bring them to the attack phase automatically.9430: If you have an unstable in play and cast the doppelganger than the unstable will gain the properties of the doppelganger, the ability to switch during your upkeep. It will then auto-switch every time a creature comes into play and CAN shift once during your upkeep. As for the vesuvan copying the unstable, the same thing will happen and the vesuvan will switch every time a new creature comes into play. This is becuase they are considered initial abilities, gained when the respective cards came into play.

Hey guys,Since I'm a moron, and this is my first time using these sorts of forums, I posted a new topic (doh) about rules changes. I sincerely apologize for that. But I would really like some answers to my rule questions, so I'd thought I'd "repost" my question in case anyone missed it. Feel free to hit in me in the head if I ever say (or do) anything moronic. Heh. -------------------------------------------Hey guys, what's up? Anyway, I have a question regarding rules. Let's say your playing a duel game, and your opponent cast Portcullis. Card Name: Portcullis Casting Cost: 4 Card Type: Artifact Creature Type: N/A Power: N/A Toughness: N/A Rules: Whenever any creature comes into play, if there are two or more other creatures in play, set that creature aside. If Portcullis leaves play, put the creature into play under its owner’s control. Flavor: Rarity: Rare Artist: Kev Walker Card Set: Stronghold Card Version: Color: Artifact Okay, now that that is in play. I load my graveyard with creatures, and cast Living Death. Card Name: Living Death Casting Cost: 3BB Card Type: Sorcery Creature Type: N/A Power: N/A Toughness: N/A Rules: Set aside all creature cards in all graveyards. Then, put each creature that is in play into its owner’s graveyard. Then, put each creature card set aside in this way into play under its owner’s control. Flavor: Rarity: Rare Artist: Charles Gillespie Card Set: Tempest Card Version: Color: Black And let's say there were already 2 creatures in play. Do all the creatures come in, or do any of them come in at all? -------------------------------------------- I also have another question. I was playing at a locally sanctioned "ironman" tournament. The basis of the tournament was that at the end of each match (consisting of one game) each player gave his/her graveyard to the judge. If you even had one card left in your deck you still had to play the next game. However.. One of my friends got screwed royally, I think. He was playing a blue deck and the blue player played Doomsday. Card Name: Doomsday Casting Cost: BBB Card Type: Sorcery Creature Type: N/A Power: N/A Toughness: N/A Rules: Search your library and graveyard for five cards of your choice and remove the rest from the game. Put the chosen cards on top of your library in any order you choose. You lose half your life, rounded up. Flavor: Rarity: Rare Artist: Adrian Smith Card Set: Classic Sixth Edition Card Version: Color: Black However, this blue player then casted Rebound on himself! Card Name: Rebound Casting Cost: 1U Card Type: Interrupt Creature Type: N/A Power: N/A Toughness: N/A Rules: Target spell, which targets only a single player, targets another player of your choice instead. Flavor: Insult, like an arrow, is beyond control once loosed. Rarity: Artist: Doug Chaffee Card Set: Stronghold Card Version: Color: Blue So the my friend had to suffer the effects of Doomsday. The judge let it go by, but I didn't think you could Rebound yourself, OR Rebound Doomsday! Any discussion, any answers, would be lovely. Thank you for your time, --Kyle Sheldon-- CoolDudeMan

Cooldudeman: 1) If multiple creatures come into play at once, due to Living Death for example, then Portcullis will trigger on all of those creatures. The player controlling Portcullis decides the order to resolve the Portcullis triggers and therefore chooses which two creatures stay in play (assuming that none were already in play... if some were already in play he might not really get a choice). All the others get yanked by the Portcullis. [D'Angelo 98/06/11]
2) No no no no no no no. You cannot target a player with rebound. You cannot target Doomsday with rebound since Doomsday does not target a player, it just says "you do this". The same goes for cards such as demonic consultation. __________________ -Guenhwyvar Member of G.A.B Blue Team and Judge in training.

Two things: 1) I think this has been answered before, but does a Mishra's Factory have a casting cost of zero as a creature (for Powder Keg)?2) At one point The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale carried errata to the effect that creatures could not use activated abilities until their upkeeps had been paid. That led to a nasty combo with Living Plane that would destroy all the opponent's lands. I don't see this errata in the present Oracle. Did it become part of 6th Edition rules (which I admit I haven't read yet), or is it no longer there? Also, I think that with a Living Plane in play, I can sacrifice the Tabernacle first and not owe any upkeeps on my other creatures. Is that right? __________________ email me at gzeiger@hotmail.com

I need someone to tell me how to play Frankenstein's Monster it has this in the casting... XBB I say you bay two black mana and the X is for how many creatures you remove from your graveyard. My friend says that is true in a way, but that I have to still pay X in colorless mana as well for the number of Creaturs I remove.Do I? __________________ ICQ#623598(wk) / 3469461(hm) Email damage2000inc@yahoo.com If someone with multiple personalities threatens to kill himself, is it considered a hostage situation?

DJ Loki: A.23.2 - Creatures (or other permanents) with this ability have four benefits: [CompRules 99/04/23] 1. Prevents all damage from <something> sources. 2. Cannot have <something> creatures assigned to block it. 3. Cannot be targeted by <something> abilities and spells. 4. Cannot be enchanted by <something> enchantments.A.23.Ruling.2 - Untargeted spells and abilities which do damage will assign damage to the creature, but that damage will be prevented by benefit number one so the damage is never actually dealt. For example, Pestilence cannot damage a White Knight. The ability is untargeted, but the damage is prevented. [D'Angelo 99/05/01] GogettaEX: If you sacrifice your seal of cleansing it is no longer in play hence his disenchant has nothing to target. Thier seal dies unless they some how counter the ability... which I can't think of anything that does. If your mom dies her ability is still on the stack. Removing the source of an ability does not stop the ability. Thrash Golem: Ummm... you must be really tired, hehe His final fortune resolves first.. allowing him an aditional turn after the surrent one. Then your scepter's ability resolves allowing you a turn after this one. Then his first final fortune resolves allowing him a turn after the current one so he gets the first turn after the current one. The you get a turn after his extra turn. Then he gets a turn after your extra turn and turn sequence follows as normal after that. Note: The game is not not going to be over for sure since he can skip his final fortune turns with cards like cronotog or time vault. gzeiger: 1. Mishra's factories cc is zero as a creature. An Assembly Worker is considered to have a zero casting cost. [Duelist Magazine #5, Page 14] 2. Text(LG+errata): All creatures have "At the beginning of your upkeep, sacrifice this creature unless you pay {1}." [Oracle 99/09/03] This upkeep cost is put on the stack. Paying the upkeep cost before using activated abilities was part of 5th edition rules, but is no longer in the 6th edition rules. With a living plane in play you can not sac the tabernacle first because all upkeps are put on the stack before they are paid so the upkeep on the other lands is on the stack and will have to be paid. Again that was under 5th rules but is no longer in 6th rules. Maybe you should take a little time to read the 6th rules Psycho13: You have to pay for X with both mana and removing the cretures from the game. "Do I?" Yes. I have done my good deed for the day... too bad I am not a boy scout, hehe.

Caquaa: There are two cards that can counter the Seal of Cleansing. One is Interdict cost: 1U Instant formerly known as Interrupt Counter target creature, artifact or enchantment ability with an activation cost. There's an identical green card in Invasion called Bind. Stupid question for the day: The Wizards web site has the Comprehensive Rules posted, but it says it hasn't been updated since last November... Are those still current?

If i play an artifact creature can it be destroyed as long at the beast is untapped? If i play an artifact that can become an artifact creature can it die as long as gardian is untapped? If Gardian beast is untapped and i play shatterstorm will my artifacts die? If i play apocolyps? __________________ (I am spelling Impared) shut up because Im a genyuss.
