Ok here's the situation:
My opponent's at 2 and has 5 creatures in play (all untapped, 2 mana elves, 3 other).

I'm at 8, have fires, 2x overabundance, and 2 creatures in play.

I draw a Saporling Burst, tap 3 land, take 6 dmg leaving me at two, play sap burst, remove 5 counters leaving me with enough creatures to kill my opponent. Seeing this, my opponent taps some land and his elves, and plays Ghitu Fire (or whatever it is...).

My question is - does my opponent take damage from Overabundance before I take it from Ghitu Fire or the other way around?

Modian: When the wave of reckoning resolves, the damage it dealt. When the damage is dealt, the spirit link triggers, and the avatar dies while the spirit link's ability is on the stack. You gain 20 life and the avatar dies.

MoUsE-WiZ: The overabundance's ability is a mana ability so it does not get put on the stack. THis means the damage is not put on the stack so when you tap a land, you take a damage right away.

BlackStorm: Really you didn't have to explain my answer, ILG4E999 just had to read. It isn't like the answer was buried some where in these posts, THE RULE NEEDED WAS ON THE SAME PAGE AS THE QUESTION. I don't feel I need to continuously repeat myself. Thanks for the help, but ILG4E999 needs to read the post before asking a question.

PLEASE READ THIS THREAD SO YOU DO NOT REPEAT QUESTIONS!!!
THANKS

If I am at one life and I tap City of Brass, can I cast Healing Salve or am I dead?

Do I get damages when there is a Manabarbs in play and someone plays a Mana Short on me?

Another easy one for you: can Mox Diamond be tapped for mana in response to the coming into play trigger?

1) Since they could use Waylay (before errata) at the Cleanup phase that is AFTER end of turn effects, creating a white Ball Lightning effect, could you use for example Tidal Visionary so that you change a creature's color at clean up phase and then untap, but the creature is still of the chosen color?

2) Do "when -this- comes into play" effects go immediately on the stack, or do you have a chance to play fast effects BEFORE the ability triggers and AFTER the permanent is on table?

armadillo cloak question.
does the damage have to trigger before the life gain happens?
the reason for this is that a person put a cloak on a hidden horror, and was at 4 life, i attacked and he survived.
an argument ensued and i got shouted down (i thought the damage triggered and they died before the cloak triggered.)

I am playing an academy deck. he strokes me for say 100.

Now during my upkeep can I brainstorm to put cards back on my library or do I lose because I can't draw the 3? or does the spell fizzle because the cards can't be drawn. lmk thanks.

I`ve got 2, forgive me if someone has asked them in the past.

1) Are all +1/+1 counters the same? IE: Can I cast Bounty of the Hunt on a Spike Feeder and remove them for 6 life before the end of turn(I know this didn`t use to be, but I remember hearing something that made me think this is now legal).

2) Can I cast Curiosity on a Thrashing Wumpus, and draw a card everytime I activate his ability(Providing it deals damage)?
Couriosity doesn`t say that the Damage must be from Combat. And as far as I know, it has no errata that changes this(It has errata, and that only makes me think this is legal, and not just a miss wording).

I know I have more, but I just can`t think of them at the moment.

for Chaos Confetti, can you tear up a proxy of equal size and weight?

Chaos orb -

in response to the activation of chaos orb, can you rearrange your permanents however you wish?

Can I do this?

Opponent attacks me with 2 River Boas. All I have in play is a sivvi, with 6 open mana. I declare I'm blocking one of the boas with the sivvi, then tap the sivvi to search for a jhovall queen to block the other boa. The boa blocked by the sivvi and the sivvi don't take damage, right? And the queen kills the boa. I'm just wondering if that's legal.

Sorry for the wait, but my internet access is limited right now

reinhart: THe CoB has a triggered ability so it is put on the stack, but the mana ability is not. You get the one white mana to cast healing salve. Then every one laughs at you because you are using healing salve

Jochen Cobussen: No, you will not take damage because the mana short taps all lands and empties the mana pool. The barbs only trigger when you tap a land for mana and mana short doesn't require that you do that.

gzeiger: Actually mox diamond has an eratta:
Text(SH+errata): As an additional cost to play ~this~, discard a land card from your hand. ; {Tap}: Add one mana of any color to your mana pool. [Oracle 99/05/01]
This means you have to discard a land before mox diamond comes into play.

Trnothr:
1) The reason waylay worked was because it said "at end of turn". "At end of turn" effects trigger and then after they trigger you have a chance to play fast effects. "Until end of turn" effects whear off, but you do not get a chance to respond after them so you can not do something after wward to make it stick around until the next turn. THe "at end of turn" abilities only trigger once, so oyu can play the effect after ward and it will not trigger until the next time "at end of turn" effects trigger.

2) The "when this comes into play" effect will trigger before you can respond with a spell or ability, but you can have other triggered abilities be put on the stack before the creature's ability since you get to choose the order the triggered abilities are put on the stack.

grez: The non-Soul Sculptored opalescence will quit being a creature since the other opal lost it's ability and the other will continue to be attacking since it is a creature still because of the other opal.

maxbishop: No, when the damage is dealt, the ability triggers. Even if the creature dies, he will gain the life.
BTW: He was playing three colors???? You should win by default, lol.

shadowizar: Well if you have 99 or less cards the stroke would kill you. If you had exactly 100 cards, then the brainstorm would kill you sonce the brainstorm requires a DRAW. You can not draw for brainstorm, so you lose.

Caleb:
1) All +1/+1 counters are the same. However, bounty of the hunt no longer gives counters, the eratta is:
Text(AL+errata): You may remove a green card in your hand from the game instead of paying ~this~'s mana cost. ; Three target creatures get +1/+1 until end of turn. You may target the same creature more than once with this spell. [Oracle 99/11/01]

Try using dragons blood and spike weaver, hehehe.

2) Yeah, you get one card for every damage he does to your opponent

Thrash Golem:
1) You may proxy this card, but the card you use must be more rare than Chaos Confetti currently is. [Barclay 98/08/13] An uncommon or rarer card is required. Use of a Chaos Orb should inspire fear in your opponents.

If you have a Frealise Winds, Hurricane, Tropical Storm, Katabatic Winds, or Cyclone card in your hand, you may reveal that card to all opponents to enable you to blow on the pieces whilst they are in flight, to aid their flight. No other interference is allowed. [Barclay 98/08/13]

You can rip the card into as many pieces as you want. If you take too long, you can be called for stalling or get hassled by your friends. [QAS 98/09/09]
Unglued rulings are funny

2) You can arrange your cards any time before the Orb is put into play, but not after. [Snark 93/11/01] In general, you should not stack cards or put them in places where your opponent cannot read the names of all of them or count them. This is recommended good gaming practice. [Aahz 94/12/03]

underworld dreams: You can't do that because you only get to declare blockers once and you must declare all blockers at once, you don't get to play abilities in between declaring blockers. If you block w/ sivvi and tap it, the sivvi and the boa will still deal damage since tapped blockers now deal damage (new addition in 6th rules) and the attacker realy doesn't care.

If I have Rancor on a Tundra Wolves and my oppponnent gives pro-green to the wolves later in the game, does the Rancor fall off into the grave?

If I cast Healing Salve (at 1 life again), what if my opponent Bolts me in response? Can I go from 1 to -2 to 1 again?

If a River Boa goes up against a Serra Zealot, isn't it still in combat after regeneration b/c it never went to the graveyard? So does the Serra Zealot die?

let's say I have Aether Flash and some 1/1 that says "When this comes into play, deal 1 damage to target opponent". The damage goes thru before it dies, right?

What about pandemonium and Phyrexian Dreadnought?

no caquaa i think that you misunderstood my question, i need to know if the player dies when the damage gets dealt from the hidden horror(4/4) with a armidallo cloak on it if he is at 4 life.

I have a question:
I was playing against a friend and I was useing a fires decks against a rebel deck.
I had a two-headed dragon that kept on dealing damage and he couldn't stop it! So, he decides to put a dillo cloak on the dragon and claims he'll gain the life if I attack with him!
Will he gain the life if I attack with the dragon or do I gain the life since I control the dragon?

Here is my question. I am playing 1.X Squirrel Prison Deck-(if you don't know, which I doubt, it used Deranged Hermit's squirrels with Opposition and Rising Waters as a lockdown to slowly kill your opponent). Anywho if my opponent is playing Slivers and he plays Crystalline can I still tap his creatures with Opposition? If I could get an answer e-mailed to me it would be very appeciated. Thanks!!

Can the en-Kor's ability be used if there is no damage to be redirected (let's say to pump-up an Angelic Protector)? If it isn't actually redirecting damage, does it target the target creature?

1)Do you have to have untapped lands to activate a chimeric idol? If not, can I activate more than 1 chimeric idol with no untapped lands?

2)Can I target blastoderm when it is first cast? I've seen it posted in several places that you can target him as a response to being cast (counterspell, powersink, etc), just wondering if the same applies to YOUR spells.

3)I play a fires, and my opponent allows it to resolve for some odd reason. On my next turn, I play a rushwood elemental and immediately attack, after I tap the elemental, my opponent decides to disenchant my fires. Is my creature still legally allowed to attack, or must I wait to attack with him until my next turn?

I'll probably have more later, I don't have time to think about anymore right now. Thanks for helping us out :-)

I think Max Bishop's question requires further clarification. I think he means this:
Max Bishop has a Hidden Horror in play. Hapless Opponent is at 4 life, and casts Armadillo Cloak on Max Bishop's Horror. On the following turn, Max Bishop attacks with a Hidden Horror enchanted by Hapless Opponent's Armadillo Cloak.

The question is: in what order to the effects go on the stack? Would the Horror do 4 damage, killing Hapless Opponent and only afterwards triggering the life gain, or would the Cloak be triggered when damage is placed on the stack, thereby allowing Hapless Opponent to live?

I have a question of timing for you as well as several others. My friend is using Reya, and is playing avalanche riders. Can he not pay the echo on them and then have them brought back during the same upkeep with reya? Can the Phrexian Plaguelord sacrafice himself to put a -1/-1 on a creature? (I think he can, but I was told once that he couldn't and I wanted to make sure) And this one I am asking because I can't remember, but when legends come into play, and one of the same kind is already there, the new one goes away right? What happens if legends come in at the same time like with exhume? Do they both die? I appreciate any help you can offer.

This is probably stupid, but i HAVE to know your answer to this.

Are you aloud to tap a something (destroy or remove it) in response to an ability?

Could you e-mail, please? jriversen@hotmail.com
