What happens if I attack with a creature, and my opponent gains control of it through an instant (say, an ability)? Can he just say 'the creature stops attacking'?? EDIT: I formulated it different.. __________________ ^^ no way!

Whenever a creature changes controllers it is removed from combat.

however, if dmg is already on the stack, even if the creature is removed from combat, the dmg will still resolve on himcompare this to regeneration an example if silvos is attacking and the controller can only regenerate him once, a shrapnel blast will use up the regen shield even though regeneration removes the creature from combat, if damage is on the stack, silvos will die if 5 points are dealt could be useful one day

Help me dudes, I'm making a deck based around false cure and life burst: False Cure: "Until end of turn, whenever a player gains life, that player loses 2 life for each 1 life he or she gained." Life Burst: "Target player gains 4 life, then gains 4 life for each Life Burst card in each graveyard." My problem is: if have 3 life bursts in the graveyard and play the fourth, make him gain 16 life, then false cure him, does: 1: He lose 32 life overall (from 20)? 2: He gain 16, then lose 32, bringing him down to 4 life (from 20)? I really need a proper answer to this, any DCI judges out there? Thanks Guild-Keeper (theguild@rogers.com)

#2. Life burst makes him gain sixteen, and then the false cure makse him lose 32.

The question to ask yourself is, if he didn't gain the life, then the cure wouldn't do anything, would it?

It says "If you win one or more...", "If you win two or more...", etc. So you get to do all of them.

I believe you mean this card...Dimensional Breach Current Rules Text Remove all permanents from the game. As long as any of those cards remain removed from the game, at the beginning of each player's upkeep, that player returns one of the removed cards he or she owns to play. When it resolves, all permanents (artifacts, lands, creatures, enchantments) are removed from the game. At the beginning of each player's upkeep, that player returns one of the removed cards they own to play if possible.

1. Can you counterspell your own spell? 2. When you activate Isochron scepter, are you playing a spell? Does it count as a spell when you use it therefore you can't really combo it with arcane laboratory?

1. Yes 2. Activating the Scepter isn't playing a spell, it only creates a copy of the imprinted spell. However playing that copy counts as playing as spell (note, it says "you may PLAY that spell"). __________________ Veteran of the 6:22 and 8:50 threads.Good work men. 12/4-12/5 R.I.P ps i stole this from blah PLZ DONT SUE

if an artifact gets tapped does it text still works -( if you tap coat of arms does it still boosts the creatures?)-

Most tapped artifacts still work (they don't "turn off"). Some artifacts do "turn off", but that is specifically mentioned in the current card rules text. Coat of Arms does not have this text, so it will continue to grant the bonus even if it is tapped.Howling Mine Current Rules Text At the beginning of each player's draw step, if ~this~ is untapped, that player draws a card. Winter Orb Current Rules Text As long as ~this~ is untapped, players can't untap more than one land during their untap steps. [Oracle 2000/02/01]

Mana Echoes will trigger 5 times. When each trigger resolves, it will count the number of creatures that share a type with the creature that triggered it and you may add mana equal to that amount. If there were no creatures in play and you cycle Decree, paying 5 for X, you would get 5 soldiers and potentially 25 mana. (5 for each soldier because it is considered to share a type with itself) quote: How about if I do it again after the first 5?
Then, using your 25 mana, for W you could cycle another Decree of Justice and choose 23 for X. That would produce a potential 644 mana (28 soldiers * 23 triggers).

If your opponent casts Fact or Fiction how are the cards reviled?I want the cards fliped over one at a time so I can clearly see what order they were in. He wants to be able to pick them up and shuffle them befor revieling them to me. Which way is correct?

Question about Orim's Chant/Abeyance. If someone played an instant (Say Ancestral Recall) and, in response, I Chant or cast Abeyance, does the other spell therefore fizzle or still go through? ~ Alden ~

why does it matter? you can't do anything in between the revealing, the splitting and the choosing of the pile to keep

Orims chant: This spell does nothing to spells that have already been announced prior to it resolving or to creatures which are already attacking.edit: explanation: The recall would already be on the stack. The chant would still resolve first but since you are not playing the recall(you already did), it resolves with no problem.

RE: Power ConduitCan you remove the Cumulative Upkeep counters from a permanent during your upkeep, after it just got them, and before you have to pay? In other words (Using example cards)... 1. Beginning of Upkeep -Illusion Forces gets 1 cumulative upkeep counter 2. "During" Upkeep -Use Power Conduit to remove the 1 cumulative upkeep counter on Illusion Forces 3. End of Upkeep -Pay for the upkeep counters on Illusion Forces (0) Is that how it works?

There is no "set way" as far as I know but as axn said, noone can do anything between the time you start revealing and the stacks are divided anyway so it shouldn't matter. Technically, I would think they should simply reveal them since it doesn't say "shuffle" anywhere in the card text. Is there a reason he would want to shuffle or you would want him not to shuffle? quote: Can you remove the Cumulative Upkeep counters from a permanent during your upkeep, after it just got them, and before you have to pay?
No, but you can remove them so that you basically change it to an upkeep cost instead of a cumulative upkeep. 502.13a Cumulative upkeep is a triggered ability that imposes an increasing cost on a permanent. The phrase “Cumulative upkeep [cost]” means “At the beginning of your upkeep, put an age counter on this permanent, then sacrifice this permanent unless you pay [cost] for each age counter on it.”
