You are correct. The bolt resolves, and then you choose to deal the damage to the player or any walker they control. They cannot wait to counter it. __________________ "He fights you not because you have wronged him, but because you are there."[16:17] <@BrassMan> what do you need new tech for? No. Treachery is an aura, and you cannot target Emrakul with it while it is on the stack. I suggest Oblivion Ring or Journey to Nowhere. Those two are permanents by the time they target, so they can target Emrakul. I also suggest Gather Specimens. Also, all this was in gathere under Emrakul's entry

Emrakul, the Aeons Torn can't be countered. Also, all this was in gatherer under Emrakul's entry edit for completeness sake: I guess you can target him with a counterspell if you'd like, It just won't do much.

How do creatures with infect interact with planeswalkers? For instance:My Plague Stinger attacks my opponents Jace Beleren which is at 3 Loyalty. He declares no blockers and does nothing to precent the damage. The Jace Beleren goes down to 2 loyalty after damage, correct? __________________ send ref checks, paypal payment or any questions to the email in my profile! Correct. Creatures with infect deal damage to planeswalkers 'normally'. __________________ "He fights you not because you have wronged him, but because you are there."[16:17] <@BrassMan> what do you need new tech for? ruling is actually on the card itself... which requires not ruling oddly enoughInfect (This creature deals damage to creatures in the form of -1/-1 counters and to players in the form of poison counters.) Planeswalker isn't mentioned, therefore it interacts with planeswalkers normally.

Yes, kicker costs are additional costs you can pay when you cast a spell, and you are still casting it via cascade. Kick away.__________________ "He fights you not because you have wronged him, but because you are there."[16:17] <@BrassMan> what do you need new tech for? if it has previously been the target of a spell or ability that turn it can be equiped without countering the equip ability. Typically if you want to equip it, you just equip it twice to get it to stick.

I have Tangle Wire in play with 4 counters on it, along with Goblin Welder and 4 other lands. My opponent passes the turn and it becomes my upkeep. Tangle Wire's triggers go on the stack, with the remove resolving before the tap. If I weld out the Tangle Wire in response to the triggers, do I have to tap any permanents and why?...i borrowed this question from (http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=51029) i think his answer is wrong just want a second opinion thanks

His answer is correct.
When the remove a counter ability resolves, nothing happens because Tanglewire isn't there anymore. When the tap ability resolves, it needs info on the source. When it doesn't find it in the expected zone, Last Known Information is used. LKI will tell the ability there were 4 counters when it was last there.

Suppose I have a Timber Protector and 3 other treefolk in play. Someone else activates Nevinyrral's Disk. What happens here? Does only the Protector go to the graveyard, or do all my treefolk?__________________ (Humans) are stubborn, self-destructive conformists. Disk attempts to destroy everything at once, but 3 of your treefolk are indestructible, so they survive. Just the protector will die.__________________ "He fights you not because you have wronged him, but because you are there."[16:17] <@BrassMan> what do you need new tech for? My opponent plays Mistbind Clique at the beginning of my upkeep. In response I tap two swamps to add BB to my mana pool. Will I be able to use the mana to kill the Mistbind Clique before I lose the mana at the end of my upkeep?

that is correct. The taiga becomes an illegal permanent and the enchantment falls off as a statebased action. quote: Originally posted by skizzikmonger: My opponent plays Mistbind Clique at the beginning of my upkeep. don't see why not. Mana in your mana pool and mistbind clique don't interact at all.

Combat related situation which came up when I was testing Merfolk MU:Im being attacked by Coralheim Commander (lvl 4), Lord of Atlantis and Mishra's Factory. Im at 3 life and I have Vampire Nighthawk. If I block the Commander with Nighthawk, will I gain 2 life in time, reduce Lord of Atlantis to 2/2 and survive @ 1 life?

All damage is dealt at once (and lifelink happens at the same time too now). So nighthawk deals 2 to commander, you gain 2, lord and factory deal 3+2 to you. End result is that you die.The coralhelm doesn't go away until after damage is done, so he is still in play to buff the lord. __________________ "He fights you not because you have wronged him, but because you are there."[16:17] <@BrassMan> what do you need new tech for? If I build up a storm count and play Brain Freeze then use Twincast on it, do I only get 1 more copy of Brain Freeze or does the new copy storm as well?Second, can I use Gifts Ungiven and then Twincast so that I can search for 8 cards (search for 4 cards separately twice)? Third, if something has protection from white, Wrath of God has no effect on it, correct?

Storm triggers when you cast the spell, and you arent casting brain freeze, you are copying it and putting it on the stack. This is why storm copies dont make more copies. Second, can I use Gifts Ungiven and then Twincast so that I can search for 8 cards (search for 4 cards separately twice)? It's just like casting a 2nd gifts ungiven. First one searches for 4, 2nd one searches for 4. Third, if something has protection from white, Wrath of God has no effect on it, correct? Incorrect. Protection only stops the following (remember this acronym) DEBT Damage - Enchant/Equip - Blocking -Targeting Wrath does none of them, it will destroy pro-white guys just fine.

i asked this at the event but i wanted to be sure.my opponent casts summoning trap (i know he can hit emerakul) i have a gather specimens in hand when can i cast? after he choses his creature of must i cast in response to summon trap which allows him to chose nobody. i am fine with gather becoming a counterspell at this point, as long as he doesn't go oops emakul. __________________ welcome to the wonderful world of card-board crack, please sit down and prepare to get mana-screwed.things i am working on with friends http://www.squidoo.com/lensmasters/Luminosity http://www.squidoo.com/mmmm-knowledge-bookstore http://myworld.ebay.com/unixarcade/ http://www.amazon.com/
