Correct. It only triggers once; when it becomes blocked.

I have 3 Mountains and a Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle in play. I cast Primeval Titan and with it's triggered ability I grab 2 mountains. Does Valakut trigger, and if so, how many times? What if I control 4 mountians?__________________ send ref checks, paypal payment or any questions to the email in my profile! Serra Angel Count: 238 Nightmare Count: 95

First one is no, you need 5 OTHER mountains. with 2 more you only have 5, so no triggers. Second one, Yes, you will get 2 triggers (6damage), when they come in play they see the other 5 mountains and trigger. This is how scrapshift works (sac lands grab six mountains. they all see each other in play)

I'm actually semi-curious about this one. I realize it will probably never come up in an actual game, but if a Bushido creature is blocked, and then a "becomes blocked" effect is played on the creature, (like Choking Vines) would that cause Bushido to trigger a second time? Or would it notice that it's already triggered once for being blocked and not trigger again?

It's not damage, it's losing life. Subtle but sometimes importance difference.

If I have a creature with equipment and I lose control of the creature, via mind control or something, can I move the equipment to a different creature of mine during my turn since they control the creature and not the equipment? Does the equipment fall off since I no longer control the creature?

Yes, you can equip it to other creatures you control during your turn. It will also stay on the stolen creature until you move it.

They will both trigger for each creature going to the opponent's graveyard, yes.

Bushido will not trigger a second time.509.4c An ability that reads "Whenever [this creature] becomes blocked, ..." generally triggers only once each combat for that creature, even if it's blocked by multiple creatures. It will trigger if that creature becomes blocked by at least one creature declared as a blocker. It will also trigger if that creature becomes blocked by an effect or by a creature that's put onto the battlefield as a blocker, but only if the attacking creature was an unblocked creature at that time. (See rule 509.1h.)

Hello all, quick question, with Landfall, does a creature get double the +2/+2 when you play fetch lands or does it just the the Landfall ability once. Thanks, Mike

Each time a land enters the battlefield, it gets the bonus. So lets say you play a Terramorphic Expanse as your land for the turn, and you control a Steppe Lynx. The Lynx gets +2/+2 because a land entered the battlefield under your control this turn. If you also activated the Terramorphic Expanse on the same turn the Steppe Lynx would get an additional +2/+2 because another land entered the battlefield under your control this turn. t;dr Yes, the triggered abilities stack. __________________ send ref checks, paypal payment or any questions to the email in my profile! Question about +1/+1 and -1/-1 counters. It seems to me a card could have both of these counters, but someone is telling me that they cancel out and are removed from the card. So if a creature has three +1/+1 counters and a -1/-1 counter, it is changed to two +1/+1 counters. Is this correct?

Yes, this is correct that they cancel each other out.

Some playtesting tonight and I came across these questions.1. I have Mimic Vat in play. My opponent has a 5/5 artifact creature in play because of his Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas. I cast doom blade on the 5/5. Can I imprint that and get a 5/5 artifact creature when activated? 2. Can creatures with infect deal damage to planeswalkers? ~MM __________________ I am MeddlingMage...YOUR Motl Survivor 11 Champion, 2007 Captain N award winner, 2010 Marlboro award winner.MafiaBass (9:48:50 PM): sorry my keyboard is sticky MeddlingEric (9:48:56 PM): ewwww MafiaBass (9:51:43 PM): FTR, I did not show you my e-pee-pee New keeper of the Logout button

1. You get whatever the artifact is sans the 5/5, AFAIK. I haven't read/seen/heard anything that says otherwise. I'd like an outside source to confirm this, though.2. Yes. __________________ send ref checks, paypal payment or any questions to the email in my profile! Serra Angel Count: 239 Nightmare Count: 95

No. You will get a copy of the printed card. Just like you get an unanimated Gideon Jura in the same circumstance. 2. Can creatures with infect deal damage to planeswalkers?
Yes, it can. It deals normal-- with respect to planeswalker rules-- damage to a planeswalker ~MM

Few random situations/questions:1. I'm playing a random version of jund, friend is playing RDW. I cast Bloodbraid elf, it resolves, and I start cascading. Well, in response to cascading/casting the elf, my friend lightning bolts my elf. However, as I'm cascading I turn over mana leak. My friend is tapped out. The question: Can I mana leak the bolt, saving the elf? My understanding of the stack is the most recent card played resolves first. So, the bolt would kill my elf. Or is cascading included in my response time to lightning bolt? Situation 2: Another cascade question. I play bituminous blast and start cascading. In response he bolts me again, which would kill me... however I turn over Cryptic Command. Can I counter the bolt, saving me? Thanks a ton in advanced : ).

This doesn't play out like this. Cascade triggers when you CAST the spell. So the stack looks like this: -TOP- Cascade trigger Bloodbraid Elf spell -BOTTOM- The trigger will resolve FIRST, before the Bloodbraid Elf resolves and Bloodbraid Elf can enter play. So, if you reveal Mana Leak, it's going to be very useless (the only other spell at this time is Bloodbraid Elf, which you probably don't want to target). quote:

The timing on this is very important. If your opponent responds to the cascade trigger, the trigger won't resolve before your opponent's spell. By the time you reveal, the cascade has already resolved. The second scenario also doesn't work.

A couple rules questions from tonight:1: Can i pithing needle my opponents mutavault to prevent it from becoming a creature? 2: Is there a time when I can Maze of Ith my opponents Emrakul without sacking any permanents? 3: Can I sac my LED to add the mana and use it to play a card from my hand before discarding my hand? 4: Can I use Sensei's top between untapping my lands and drawing my card? Thanks! Tim

quote: Originally posted by pugowar: A couple rules questions from tonight:1: Can i pithing needle my opponents mutavault to prevent it from becoming a creature? Yes you can, still an activated ability. Mutavault will still be able to tap for mana. 2: Is there a time when I can Maze of Ith my opponents Emrakul without sacking any permanents? No. You cannot target a creature with Ith until it is attacking. Once it is attacking, the Annihilator is already on the stack by the time you activate Ith. 3: Can I sac my LED to add the mana and use it to play a card from my hand before discarding my hand? No, discarding your hand is part of the cost. You pay the cost in order to put the ability on the stack. Your hand is gone ebfore you get mana. 4: Can I use Sensei's top between untapping my lands and drawing my card? Yes you can, that area is called the upkeep. Untap, upkeep, draw. During your upkeep you will receive priority where you can activate Top if you'd like. That's a pretty basic explanation on my part though, and there's more to it. You should read up on the turn structure.
