Not sure about the rules in Canada, however my brother bought the game in Pittsburg PA, and registered at our local shop in Syracuse, NY for the promo. I picked it up last week. Hope that helps. Tim

Likely only if you register an Ontario Address quote: Originally posted by SageShadows: Just curious, why won't they let you redeem it in Quebec?
The Laws in Quebec on contests are very strict some examples i've found via Google. # Register the sweepstakes rules and all advertisements used to promote the contest with the Quebec government at least 30 days ahead of the sweepstake's launch. # Pay a fee of up to 10% of the sweepstake's value, depending on who is allowed to enter. # Agree to allow the government of Quebec to mediate any lawsuits arising from the contest. # Follow strict guidelines about the contents of the sweepstakes rules. # Allow the Quebec government to determine if the sweepstake may be changed or canceled once it has started. # File a written report after the contest has concluded, attesting that the prizes have been delivered or attempted to be delivered __________________ Member Since 03/28/2001 10000+ posts 3rd in posts in Ontario 15th in posts on MOTL Top 5 in Refs in Ontario (by people who location posted)

Yuppers... I'm used to it, but ain't perfectly bilingual so I can't really move in Canada (yeah, Québec isn't really a part of Canada, most of it's residents wants to separate :/). But seriously, check Ashnod's Coupon flavor text... I collect them for a reason ;P

Most contests and promos exclude our province. I never knew why, but WeedIan's google discovery likely has a lot to do with it. The other possibility I can think of is that the products may not usually be available in French, and would thereby contravene our language laws. But that's pure speculation. __________________ "I have heard the mermaids singing, each to each. I do not think they will sing to me." -T.S. EliotRIP Ari Legacy UGB River Rock primer. Not Canada, just the Québec province :/ If I got to a store 5 mins away from here (in Ontario) I can get the promos :/

I just went 3-0 in a draft. The last game of the last match went to time. The previous round I won by poisoning him.

I just received a few cards in a sort of team bag (it doesn't actually fold over and close, if that's even a team bag at all) with the cards spilling out and the tape being stuck to the top card... I think the tape stopped being sticky enough to hang on the plastic allowing them to slip out but still, it looks like i got cards sent taped to plastic to be secure.

Ordered 3 beta NM duals over the weekend. The weak US Dollar and Euro are great if you're looking for old cards and don't get paid in these currencies (CHF rules supreme)__________________ Collecting signed cards. PM me...Total signed cards: 25'166 my stuff

holy s! at what point did the game degenerate into just spamming the keyboard to pass the turn? I know I woulda probably seriously considered that strategy if we each had around a min to go

Doesn't Quebec have some special rules that scare off a lot of contest/redemtion/promo sort of things? A lot of lotteries have "not valid in QB or RI".

Yup. Almost every promo/contest is invalid in this province, it seems. Doesn't stop them from selling items with contest logos/information/and stuff, though. It's only when you read the fine print that you find out it's not for you.

What kind of cards make tokens of a specified creature type, or reusable duplication of a creature in play? All i've got is Soul Foundry and Volrath's Laboratory but i know there's at least one other.I specifically don't mean things like Clone, Sculpting Steel, Splinter Twin (where you end up sacrificing it anyway), etc. If it helps any, it's for mono-white EDH.

That's rather tricky, especially in Mono-W and with the restrictions of allowing you to choose the token type (if that's what you mean) and reusability in the second instance. Phyrexian Processor puts tokens of a specified type (minions) into play, but I assume what you actually want is the freedom to specify the token type. The only other token-makers available to Mono-W that I can find both specify the type, and are much worse.
Similarly, Phyrexian Metamorph work in mono-white and copies a creature in play, but unfortunately it's not really reusable on its own. __________________ "I have heard the mermaids singing, each to each. Yeah it's the Loto-Québec that owns all the rights for them. They do as they please and the governement can't say a word (that's what a rep for Loto-Québec told me).
