But you're also assuming each card only appears once on the sheet. Otherwise, you're as likely to get a particular common as any given mythic, and that doesn't seem right. It's probably something like 1 copy/mythic, 2/rare, 3/uncommon and 6/common, or something to that effect.

So could you technically get a mythic double-sided, mythic rares, and foil Rare? That does remind me of PLC. I got a Body Double, FOIL Body Double and Groundbreaker all in one pack if not mistaken.__________________ -Schmitty 7th in Refs [193] in OH-IO (Catching up to jmedina) 2nd in Posts [5887] in OH-IO (Have a long way to go to catch Val) “If Brad Stevens is the future of coaching in college basketball, the sport is in a good place.” - Rick Pitino

Absolutely nothing. http://www.wizards.com/magic/magazine/article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/feature/157b : If any card or token other than a double-faced card is instructed to transform, nothing happens. It won't be turned face down. __________________ There's no need to fear, UNDERDOG is here! All your Gruul Nodorogs are belong to me. Trade them to me, please! Report rules violations. Liliana of the Veil looks sick, and does not have five abilities :P__________________ It is a known fact that more Americans watch the television than any other appliance.

Yeah, she's interesting. Not sure how often her ultimate will fire off but at least she only costs 3. Judging by the today's Arcana article with the artwork, there are two Garruk images that are dimensionally Planeswalker. Combined with the checklist name "Garruk Relentless, 3G" and I think we have our 5 ability walker. __________________ PMs don't work in Chrome or Firefox 4.0+, see HERE for work arounds.

Any planeswalker that can be Dark Ritualed out turn 1 should be seriously looked at.

I didn't think about that either. I don't think her abilities make her legacy playable though. __________________ Member Since 03/28/2001 10000+ posts 3rd in posts in Ontario 15th in posts on MOTL Top 5 in Refs in Ontario (by people who location posted)

Playable in reanimator deck, maybe?

Liliana seems more suited for a control deck that grinds people out with card advantage than re animator.Smallpox seems especially suited to this and it just so happens to be in m12

I like Liliana for modern, because you can really abuse her +1 ability by discarding Bloodghast, Reckless Wurm, Fiery Temper, cards with unearth, Demigod, Vengevine, etc.I've already started working on a Dredgevine deck with Liliana

I'm looking forward to playing Liliana in EDH. I could use another Innocent Blood that stays in play. __________________ Most References in Massachusetts 88th All-timeSupport my friend's store: http://www.tabletoparena.com

The new white Faceless Butcher card(Fiend Hunter) is really good and cost 1 less. The new Liliana isn't horribly overpowered but rather seems like a solid control card for MBC. Nice to see a good playable planeswalker at CMC 3. Other than the first Jace has there been any other 3 cc planeswalkers? I don't think so... She def fits the reanimator side though, and who knows maybe something like Reanimate/Exhume, or something of that power, gets printed in the set. All the double-sided werewolves look cool, too.

This set makes me wish some cards had worse art. Cards with terrible art were awesome and funny. This set comes so close to being really fun flavor-wise but the art direction just crushes it by removing all the goof from the product. Basically we're getting Pirates of the Caribbeans but I want Army of Darkness : D That makes sense in my head. quote: Originally posted by WeedIan: 1 Drop red vampire that gets +1/+1 counters whenever it hits a player. seems good.
Seems fairly terrible outside of limited. You'd have to proliferate pretty hard before he becomes even close to Goblin Guide in value : p

He's still solid, Goblin guide is likely one of the best 1 drops ever. __________________ Member Since 03/28/2001 10000+ posts 3rd in posts in Ontario 15th in posts on MOTL Top 5 in Refs in Ontario (by people who location posted)

Yeah I've seen all 3. Or 3 of them, however many there are. I really miss the old days of magic where some cards just had terrible art and artists had a wide range of style and skills. When everything is good, nothing is great. Just gets boring and repetitive. I miss the days where an artist was handed a card named "Hyalopterous Lemure" and he didn't quite get that a Lemure was some kind of demon or whatever and he drew a cute little creature. So awesome. If that card had proper art on the level of other Ice Age art, it would be completely unremarkable and forgotten. But now it's funny and worth collecting : D

they should bring phil foglio back to do a run of tokens. I would collect the hell out of them. I feel like that would be a good way to bring back that nostalgia factor without giving people something to complain about. I'd love to see Richard Kane Ferguson and Kipling West (ertai's familiar) do some tokens as well.

Yeah, I miss Phil's stuff too. I've been a fan of his work since the old D&D What's New stuff in Dragon magazine. I'd love to see him illustrate some of the actual cards again too, but I'm not going to hold my breath thinking that will happen anytime soon outside of a third Unglued/Unhinged type set. RKF's style was awesome as well. Some of the best looking gold-bordered stuff in the Legends set was his work in my opinion. I like the art in MtG currently, but I have to admit that I initially got into this game for the diverse style of art that it had. I do miss that sometimes. Having said that, I'm on the fence about the flip mechanic, but I'm still liking the set based on what I'm seeing art-wise. *EDIT* I'm liking the Skirsdag High Priest and Skirsdag Cultist. They go well together and I may finally be able to put together the cultist deck that I've been wanting to do. I don't think it would be very competitive but it might make for a fun casual deck...now if only we had a card for Cthulhu I'd be set
