Alas, the Garruk, Liliana, snapcaster sealed pool did not end up in my hands today. Sad. Edit : And I just beat that deck. Saw none of the above cards in our 3 games. __________________ There's no need to fear, UNDERDOG is here! All your Gruul Nodorogs are belong to me. Trade them to me, please! Report rules violations. Ehh, went 1-2 today, and due to the top 8 all being 2-1 or better, they all agreed to draw into the top 8, and the rest of us got a pack to draw and go home.Essence of the Wild is still the only mythic I've seen after 4 sealed events, including prize packs. I dont understand how this duche openly brags about ripping people off in his own store and still gets trades.....Karma is a bitch.Traded his Ipad for: "Based on these prices, I'll make $1339.75 after all the cards are sold. That means that I got $819 dollars more for my iPad by trading it for Magic cards than by selling it on eBay." His ebay price quote for the Ipad: $520. His quote to his trade partner: " “$800 at buylist prices?!” I smiled, “If I sell this thing on eBay, I am going to get cash for it!” I didn't know how much cash I could get for it on eBay, but I remember that I paid about $900 dollars for the iPad new. If I could get $800 at buylist prices for it, then the deal would be a super slam-dunk! Brandon resisted and counter-offered." Edit: Also why does Star City allow him to write a 1/2 Brag column, 1/2 how to rip off little kids column.

I'm in the process of liquidating most of my collection. Let me tell you, cards are illiquid as hell. An iPad is as good as cash, at least here. To be honest, I have nothing against Medina. It's not like he's putting a gun to people's heads and forcing them to trade. People know him by now. __________________ #2 in posts from British Columbia!Got any Portuguese Foils? I remember someone saying on a previous PfMS that when everyone tries to be a dealer, less trades take place and more people end up buying from the store. Tongue in cheek or not, that theory makes sense.

meh, depends how much effort you put into it. I live in a very small area that has 3 shops, but most get ~8 people for FNMs and such. I owned 11 snapcasters before the release. I just turned cards in my binder that weren't liquid into cards people were buying. Most people when looking to sell cards stop trading. Trading helps with sales a ton. Anything I can't sell, I turn into stuff I can. People are so happy to get larger cards for a bunch of $2 cards too. I'd be at a loss for what to offer for an ipad if someone offered me one out of the blue though, thats for sure.

I used to think he was an okay guy but the little bit of public exposure has proven to show a less-than-brilliant attitude with the aggressive way he portrays trading. I think he gets off on knowing he can act like that and have it accepted as decent behavior, meanwhile there's an obvious lack of general maturity that needs addressing. That whole Engage/Disengage approach is ostentatiously childish, along with that wannabe popularity vibe going on, and that "Pack-to-Power" nonsense.. Personally, I think he's a terrible influence on the younger crowds and the incorrigible, his articles blow, and overall is bad for business. Why the management or whatever staff involved keeps him on is boggling. It's as though they just don't give a ****. I have dealt with him before on occasion a couple of times and I had no problems with him at all but that fake tough guy trader image he's putting on is crap when all he's doing is blatantly taking advantage of people and encouraging others by doing do so. I wish I had something positive to say about his new found fame but there just isn't.

Modern looks quite dead on MTGO, not a single DE fired in the past 15 hours.

Perhaps people care more about brewing Standard decks? And the fact that Wizards haven't made any announcement regarding Modern since the banning.

I only know American alterers. But I know 3-4 good ones, depends on your price range. Email me for more info if you want to talk at length.

What other kind of announcement could they make? They've already said that it will be a format for Worlds this year. And before they announce any kind of Modern PTQ "season" I think they'd like to see how the format plays out with the new bannings to make sure it really is better than what Extended could have offered. On a semi-related note...that earlier rumor on Salvation that the next block was to be Ravnica is now not as true as before. They'll go back to Ravnica at some point but it just won't be Fall of 2012. __________________ PMs don't work in Chrome or Firefox 4.0+, see HERE for work arounds.

Yes, but if there are no PTQs or GPs that use Modern as the format, there is no incentive for people to playtest them on MODO or otherwise. Why should I spend hours playtesting for something that may not happen? And when you consider that we only have 3 months left in the year, if Wizards want to Modern to replace Extended for the next PTQ season (beginning of 2012), they should have given an announcement already. This left every players in limbo since they do not know whether or not to test for Extended or for Modern.

I think the reason people expected modern to be seeing a lot of play is because it was a player driven format. Its the format players wanted to see wotc implement, then when it became a real format but the busted cards were banned, people lo9st interest. I'm not sure about you, but as soon as I heard about modern my first thought was "I get to use stoneforge and jace again!" and those dreams were crushed. However, in the back of my mind, I thought stoneforge might get the axe, so I figured I'd fall back on fae. Can kinda see why I'd lose interest if all the decks I want to play become unplayable. I'm sure others may be in a similar situation w/ lack of reason to actually play modern.

Saturday I was made an offer for a partial box of zendikar that i couldn't refuse so I took home 31 packs of zendikar. I know there was a foil rare pulled and no fetches (it was a bloodghast). I planned on keeping the packs to do a fun "free" draft when we have 8 bored people and I'll just keep the cards. I got bored and decided to see if I can find foil packs by feel. I identified 7 packs I thought had foils (which is good math leaving 24 remaining packs and 8 total foils from the box). I went 7 for 7 on opening foils in those packs. Seems like something thats interesting to be able to do, but then again all 7 foils I opened were total garbage (no land!)

Yeah, I'm just waiting for TCG Player to announce that Modern will be the format for their tournament series. Speaking of which, are they going to have another one for this year?
