So now o-ring has resolved and the targeting goes on the stack. He then taps SFM and drops in Batterskull. So I took it. Seemed like more a timing mistake on his part. I even asked him if he wanted to take it back . We played on. He still won 2-1.
You would not be able to take the Batterskull. You need to choose targets when the ability goes on the stack. Batterskull isn't in play yet so it not a legal target. Targets are chosen on announcement not resolution. O-Ring is special because when it comes into play is when the ability with a target triggers. Unlike say pacifism, where the target is choose on announcement.

Two questions. If my creature has protection from green and I fight a green creature does it still prevent the damage? If I have a bloodmoon in play and play price of progress does it still do damage for the newly created mountains since they are not basic mountains?

If your creature has pro-green and it fights a green creature, the damage is prevented. Protection from something prevents all damage, no matter how it's caused.Blood moon turns nonbasics into mountains, but they are still nonbasic, so price of progress still does the dirty.

Kitchen Finks/MeliraIf the Finks already have a -1/-1 counter on them when Melira comes into play, since she doesn't remove any counters, when they sac the Fink to Seer, that's it right? No infinite Scry/Life?

When you declare attackers you declare what they are attacking at that time... the opponent or the planeswalker.

Does this mean that if Blood Moon is in play, then Valakuut comes down, (say off the usual Scapeshift) that Valakuut still triggers?

No. Valakut is a non-basic mountain with no abilities other than tapping to produce red mana.

Blood Moon questions:It immediately changes a non-basic land entering play into a Mountain, and it does so before abilities that trigger on the original entering play trigger. [D'Angelo 1999/08/01] Sacred Foundry gets put onto the battlefield. Does the pay 2 life or tap it clause do anything? Is Darksteel Citadel still an artifact? It is not indestructible, correct? Flagstones of Trokair in play and another enters. Still legendary right? Both still die right? Since it has, "When Flagstones of Trokair is put into a graveyard from the battlefield", each one still searches for a plains, right?

Correct on Darksteel Citadel. Flagstones is still legendary, sure. But it doesnt have that ability anymore. So no plains for you. I think i know how the shocklands work, but im not actually sure. Anyone else? __________________ "He fights you not because you have wronged him, but because you are there."[16:17] <@BrassMan> what do you need new tech for? Yes, it does. Cards with "as this ETBs" abilities aren't on the battlefield when you make any choices associated with the ability. If you do not pay 2 life, your non-basic mountain will ETB tapped. "603.6e. Some permanents have text that reads “[This permanent] enters the battlefield with . . . ,” “As [this permanent] enters the battlefield . . . ,” “[This permanent] enters the battlefield as . . . ,” or “[This permanent] enters the battlefield tapped.” Such text is a static ability—not a triggered ability—whose effect occurs as part of the event that puts the permanent onto the battlefield." __________________ *My LJ*Letter Bombs!*Facebook*Logout- I had it second!*CKGB

Yes. At the time it applies (as it enters the battlefield), it still has that ability, so you either pay 2 or it enters tapped.

If I have a Basilisk Collar on a Pestilence Demon would Hexproof or Indestructability save my creatures? I dont know if Pestilence Demon targets every creature or if its more global.

Hexproof, no (it does not target). Indestructibility, yes.

Rules dont take effect till January. Still have to remind him. Also, at FNM, its still 'casual' REL, so you still have to remind him anyway. Changes only apply to Competitive (PTQs/GP day1) and Professional (GP day2, PT) REL. __________________ "He fights you not because you have wronged him, but because you are there."[16:17] <@BrassMan> what do you need new tech for?
