Deathrite Shaman (B/G) Creature - Elf Shaman T: Exile target land from a graveyard. Add one mana of any color to your mana pool. B, T: Exile target instant or sorcery card from a graveyard. Each opponent loses 2 life. G, T: Exile target creature card from a graveyard. You gain 2 life. 1/2Legacy playable?

Looks like a corner-case utility creature. GSZ does mean it can be fetched, so it might see some play as a 1-of in one of the "Nic Fit" variants. To me, the second ability looks like the most useful, followed by the third (since gaining life is actually handy in the late-game for most of the B/G decks). The trouble is that Scavenging Ooze competes for the third ability, and is a more useful graveyard-control mechanism (plus, it's a powerful threat), so I'm not convinced that I wouldn't prefer to run another Ooze rather than this guy.
RIP looks like some of the best graveyard hate available, though. Not that we needed more.

Yes I'm sad too . I like the new Deathrite Shaman though. I like how it removes lands and adds mana, which is probably bad in a standard with no fetch lands, but you never know. There is a lot of Snapcaster hate in this set.

Well, now that the set is nearly all spoiled, folks can promptly begin bitching about how much it sucks because there are some rares and uncommons that aren't constructed playable.

Golgari Charm GB Instant Choose one - All creatures get -1/-1 until end of turn; or destroy target enchantment; or regenerate each creature you control.this looks pretty awesome. another token deck hoser. also deals with Supreme Verdict and oblivion rings/spheres. I think green is going to be the standard color of choice.

I agree about the green domination. Between zombies, jund variants, Junk, and bant, green has a very solid lock on playability post-rotation.

Honestly I think the only color that really has its work cut out for it w/r/t to making it into tier 1 decks post-rotation is white. Jund/junk is clearly going to be a thing, but there are also plenty of izzet goodies and as long as snapcaster yet lives, blue is gonna have its foot in the door.__________________ It is a known fact that more Americans watch the television than any other appliance.

Is it just me or is azorius not very inspired in this set. It is frustrating because I think detain is far and away the neatest mechanic but almost all the azorius cards are just blah. Basically out of the UW gold cards I see the charm, the guildmage, and the skyknight as interesting then the fillibuster guy and bird in hybrid are neat. I was expecting more as soon as detain got spoiled I was thinking, "Wow! They are going to make azorius pop!" But it seems like they didn't really have great ideas so we just got bad consecrated sphinx and gold o-pulse ring and day. Can't help but wonder if part of the reason isn't that UW has been dominant in standard since bloodbraid elf rotated and they were (justifiably) trying to change that up. Main reason I'm bummed is because the UW part of my cube is underwhelming and the 3 cards that are up for consideration are all near reprints of mono color cards: judge's familiar, supreme verdict, detention sphere.
