Is it just me, or does this set look like a wash so far? So far it seems unimpressive but I think the boots are definitely going to be underrated for awhile. courtesy of daner's edit http://www.planeswalkerslibrary.com/m12_visual_spoiler.php

I think we're just tired of M20XX awesomeness. Though I do agree, I'm just not as psyched this cycle around.

I don't buy core set packs but I do have fun drafting and playing the release events with it. It will be nice not to have to play against infect, a mechanic which kinda ruined limited for me the last few months. In terms of the set I'm not excited but for basic fun MTG limited I'm happy

Yeah, the set looks interesting enough. It feels semi-homelandsesque in its design and flavor. Also semi-homelandsesque is its power level. Seems like WotC is interested in dialling back the power level of the game. Which I heartily support - but it's not one I'm about to go out and endorse. :P__________________ "I never got any respect at all. I'm kind of excited for Shock and Lightning Bolt in the same rotation for a month or so. It still works like that, right? If so, I'll probably do some sort of burn for Gen-Con.

But you could just be playing Burst Lightning/Galvanic Blast and Lightning Bolt, it's the same This set does seem toned down, but new Planeswalkers will be exciting (as rumored).

Yes but now he can play Burst Lightning, Galvanic Blast, Lightning Bolt AND Shock. Toss in a few Goblin Guides and maybe Goblin Grenades and we're off to the races.

Goblin Grenade is the best burn spell ever printed.I dare you to disagree. My logic is PERFECT. __________________ Joz - can we ban Leshrac for not fixing the Chrome PM issue?Gunslinga - If I thought it would help, and if I could, I would.

Wait to see a must have mythic. We had Baneslayer in 2010 and the titans in 2011 but nothing must have released yet.

Goblin Grenade will probably be more viable in standard than it is in legacy. Or for sure. For sure i will be playing goblins.

Joz, between this and the pfs, you're a shoo-in for the Mike Bullard award 2011. If you're unfamiliar with the MOTL awards, that means you're painfully unfunny. __________________ "I never got any respect at all. Lord of the Unreal's expansion symbol is D12? not M12 like the rest? Wat.This set looks extremely fun to draft. Lot of awesome new cards. The illusion master would be so fun to build around. Woo, Bloodlord of Vaasgoth! More vamps for mehhh. Some of them are really damn cool and going into edh immediately. Vampire Outcasts in particular. "Of course I'm sure I've gone mad. The little man who crawled out of my eye was quite clear on this." I'm extremely attracted to the girl on Hideous Visage. Sengir Vampire is still a rare and Serra is no longer =[ Finally we have Sorin's Thirst, a fixed version of Douse in Gloom and it's older variants. I have been waiting for that for years. Seriously. Hunter's Insight will be fun. Manalith, another Ingot/Lantern effect. Pretty nifty. I'm sure we all adore Swiftfoot Boots. I like it better than greaves for myself since i tend to target my own stuff. Seems like a really fun set. And i generally don't like core sets (even when they started printing off new cards in them).

D12 = Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012. Some images were pulled from the game.

Serra hasn't been a rare for a long time, and wasn't a rare back in the day. I think she was only a rare in 7th/8th? __________________ Member Since 03/28/2001 10000+ posts 3rd in posts in Ontario 15th in posts on MOTL Top 5 in Refs in Ontario (by people who location posted)

I hate Swiftfoot Boots. I hated when they keyworded shroud because it meant they would use it more, and now hexproof is even worse. It's one thing to put it on a 2/1, but once you grant the ability to but it on big guys (via equipment, no less) it can get silly. Maybe I just rely on removal too much... at least they got rid of Giant Growth.__________________ seancperry on MTGO Standard: SplinterTwin, Hawkward Legacy: Merfolk, Dredge, Deadguy Ale, U/w Control, Affinity

Armored Warhorse should have "bands with knights."Honestly though, I really like Hunter's Insight. I think it could have a lot of potential.

Not as powerful as it once was, and I'd rather have Lightning Bolt.
