I saw your deck list on MTGS though, and it would work if my meta is more "normal & fair". I might give Rafiq a try, but I will probably have to tune it into a control deck with aggro finish.
Sounds like a fun, competitive meta. We also like to encourage combo finishes and LD. Anything goes. Having played Rafiq extensively, I can tell you Rafiq is slower than Azusa by quite a bit. Rafiq is better 1on1 but to kill off a table of 3+ Azusa will get the job done a few turns earlier. If you're playing against fast, dedicated combo they're probably going very light in removal. They will be doing little to hinder your explosion while you can hammer their resources with Sylvan Primordial/Terastodon/Seeds of Innocence/etc, if not outright kill off the entire table.

I agree that Rafiq will be slower than Azusa, hence if I have to play him, it will have to be control heavy to slow down the paste of everyone else. I also saw a deck list for Thalia just now, and might use that as a skeleton and tune it to fit my meta. __________________ ****Attention****DO NOT send cards to Jon Strickland, 1971 St.Laurent Blvd Apt 705, Ottawa Ontario, Canada K1G 3P8. You can slow down the meta big time if you want to play GAIV. He can be absolutely brutal.

My problem is this: I need white or blue or white/blue graveyard hate. I need white or blue or white/blue gain life hate. I know of one white graveyard hate- Rest in Peace. Suggestions?
There is a white card from torment, Morningtide (sorcery)
W1 - Exile all cards from all graveyards Grafdigger's Cage 1 (colorless) creature's can't be played from the graveyard, and searchable with trinket mage. Bazaar of Wonders - Enchantment UU3 - Exile all cards from all graveyards, counter spells with the same name as card exiled this way (lame for edh, but its blue graveyard hate)

Run an Arbiter of Knollridge for life gain hate. *grin* Since U/W can't really stop them from gaining the life, the least you can do is gain all the life they've gained, at once, on one card.

So, I'm going to try running a 5 color Legendary deck. The idea is simple. All legends, including non-creatures where I can. So, what should be auto-includes and auto-excludes?Figure I'm running 38 lands, plus some mana excel. __________________ My 2008 Nationals MOTL's Pro-Tour Winner 2007-2009 Tower Magic FacebookhilikuS: Also, as much as MAB's list has become the list on the T/A Forum, I do miss Slinga's.

Horde of Notions for sure, with as many legendary elementals as possible Also allows for nameless inversion and crib swap to be played as recurring removal

Is Lyzoldas 2 damage from her commander damage or does it have to be 21 pts of combat damage?__________________ 33rd in refs on Motl! #1 Ref's for Arizona! I offer 3rd party trading services. I have a Sigarda deck that features Mageta the Lion, Melira, Novablast Wurm and Cauldron of Souls. The idea is to use a platoon of regenerating and persistent creatures on my side and control the table with multiple Wrath effects. It's great fun to play for sure. PM me if you want to see the decklist.

Soul Conduit. Better, in a sense, than Mirror Universe, and costs .25.

Much better, really. No stupid timing requirement. And in multiplayer you don't really have to worry about not having the mana. And you can trade two other players and not just you. You can also run magus of the mirror if you really want to.

Is there such thing as a pauper commander deck? or a commander deck that doesn't have a rare over $5 or $10 in it? Why? I built my 1st mtgo commandr deck, played 2 games and was sick to myself. the theme of them both? Land Destruction. Major bling. My skullbriat deck is feshly made and I know its gonna lose alot b4 it wins any...but cmon!__________________ 30th in refs on Motl! #1 Ref's for Arizona! I offer 3rd party trading services. This is pretty much why I will not play EDH on MTGO. The lack of face to face interaction eliminates one of the driving factors behind the social aspect of the format that limits some of the cut throat deck building decisions. It's been said many times, EDH is not a hard format to break if you really want to. EDIT: As for pauper or peasant EDH, there are paper variants of the format. I don't think there are any online though. My group has also tried building decks with budgetary restrictions, like a $50 cap on everything but the general and basic lands. You can still build decent decks under those restrictions, but they won't keep up in a super competitive meta usually. __________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air!I collect Granite Gargoyles.
