I recently purchased 4 Balances. The Revised one looks fine. One 4th Edition one was inked... badly.HERE are the last two. One of them is normal. The other is a cutout from a magazine glued to a Forest. Don't worry, I'm getting a refund for those bad ones.

Anyone know anything regarding the DCI investigation of Tzu-Ching Kuo? I'm just curious as to what he was being accused of specifically. I didn't see anything in the PT coverage.http://www.wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/other/11192012-kuo-investigation

He probably did something that would be a minor penalty if accident or game loss if intentional. His opponent likely argued it was intentional.

Anybody win a game with the Azorius Elocutors' trigger yet?A guy sided it against me during sealed in game 2. When he won the game, I decided to return the favor and side in my foil copy for game 3.

Would be a DQ if it was intentional. He probly did something that on camera could be seen as accidental or cheating. Was ruled accidental and after watching the video they did not over turn.

I'd like to share that I am very happy because I should finally be getting a box of RtR next month. Hooray for new cardboard to play with.

*Allegedly*, what happened was that there was a problem with life totals during a match. In round 3 of Pro Tour: Return to Ravnica, he was paired up against Kyle Morlock (a younger, possibly more inexperienced player?). Morlock had his life at 13, Kuo had it at 11 and convinced Morlock that it was 11, which Morlock changed it.The debate arises whether it was unintentional sloppy scorekeeping by Kuo or an attempt to bully around Morlock with an intention free Shock. Wizards official result of their investigation is THIS. That's the full extent of what I have heard, but I was not there at the event, nor watching the feature match live, so details may not be entirely correct. I was relayed this information secondhand. Edit to add: Watch and judge for yourself HERE. (I'm told to go watch at 4:17:47) Kuo plays Kitchen Finks (22-20). Morlock plays Thoughtseize (22-18). Morlock plays Thoughtseize (22-16). Kuo attacks with Kitchen Finks (22-13). Both players confirm 13 life. Morlock plays Inquisition of Kozilek Morlock plays Tarmogoyf. Kuo asks how big it is. Kuo asks how many card in Morlock's hand. Morlock says 2. Then he asks about life totals and Kuo says 11, Morlock has 13 (keep in mind, this is AFTER both players both confirmed 13 life a minute ago). Kuo is counting 2 from T1 Overgrown Tomb, which Morlock did not pay life for. At this point, the coverage show the life totals at 22-13. A judge comes over and there's a dispute over when Overgrown Tomb was played and whether life was paid or not. Morlock is quick to just lost the extra two life and the judge is asking both players to confirm when the Overgrown Tomb was played. Both players agree to 11 life as the current life total.

Hey guys I'm quitting Legacy on MTGO to start Modern. I have no clue what to play but what should I start with? I have a Affinity deck minus Arcbound (I don't like arcbound in legacy). Is Affinity any good right now in Modern or should I just sell the deck and buy basic stuff (Shocks/fetches/Snaps)?

You should look at the Modern dailies and see what's doing well. It's a deck in Modern, but I haven't seen it have as much success as others. It's really hit or miss, depending on how much hate your opponents have. If your opponent is running Zoo with burn and Kataki in the sideboard, you're probably going to have a bad time. If it's a bunch of cloudpost decks, you'll fare better. Here's a recent Modern Daily with a 4-0 running Affinity (and two more at 3-1).

I've got some modern decks in the making, waiting for the season to be over so I don't have to punch my wallet over Liliana of the Veils and the like.

I appreciate the detailed info. I wasn't aware a video of the incident existed. It's always difficult to tell peoples intentions, and matches are sometimes decided by 1-2 points, but it's difficult to believe a player of that caliber would stoop to intentionally bertoncheating on camera.

so...I sold this alpha card. It was listed as inked. i gave a scan of the inked cards, in normal and in super high resolution (last via download). via pm I confirmed with the buyer that the card was indeed inked. Now the buyer has recived the card and wants a refund because the card is inked.
wth?

So he's just an idiot then. Once it's inked in any way it's inked. There's really no spectrum here. It's either damaged or not.

Checked out a collection on Craigslist. Rubber bands around decks drive me insane! He had like 40 decks all with rubber bands around them! The funny thing was that he had like 5 infect decks, 5 other decks that all had martyr of sands. I wont even go into the Panther Warriors and Jovens Ferrets and silvers with Soldiers deck. Basically it was the same decks just built a little differently. Maybe im just to organized with my cards but after I bought it I found good cards like yagmoth's will in the middle of all his commons.

In that case, he probably does not have any grounds to ask for a refund.
