Would be great if everyone start sharing their EDH deck list in the deck help forum. That part of the forum could use a boost, and it would be nice to share personal tech/strategy.

Does edh players even look @ the deck help forums for edh decks? I sure don't. ----- Now---- I'm still working on the kinks for my Edric edh deck, now to work onto another. Perhap w/b control....

I check the forum all the time and frequently offer suggestions on lists. It's hard to get a dialogue going though when even the OP doesn't respond sometimes.

raging river is awesome, though i passed on it because i couldn't imagine the greatest use from it. it mostly only helps me get my attackers through and i want to control/effect others combats more than i need to push attackers through. side it for one on one though.

glory is one shot, so just no. which sucks because its removal or you shaft an attacker or save someones life. the only oneshots i have are master warcraft and fight to the death, both much more of a blowout.

I really do think you have most of what you're looking for. If you want a general rule for cuts, cut the high casting cost spells first.

You would get more responses if you are very specific. Deck help forum is a lot like trade value forum. Threads on there where someone just posts a list and asks how much? aren't greeted with many helpful replies.

Well, that's a general rule. But some of the more expensive cards have the better effects. Like Gisela, Battleshaper, Archangel of Strife

Specific like how? I specifically want to cut some cards and it looks like I have plenty of creatures so I guess some of them first

I have to stop myself every time and ask myself if I really need to go above my current rotation of about six decks. I don't like having more than that, since I have such limited time to play. It stinks picking up the cards for and then only pulling it out once every few months.

My easiest solution is to just work up a list when the urge to brew strikes. If I like it more than one I have built right now, then I retire a deck and add the new one to the line up.

When I got into EDH I broke up my cube, all of my extended (modern) decks and the one legacy deck I was working on and raided my 'art binder' for EDH playables. Nearly a year later I have 20 decks complete and 12 more in the pipeline. Once I get done with them I want to close out shop and only get new cards if they are a strict upgrade from something I have already, more fun / on theme than something I have already or I simply like the art.

With as many decks as I have some hardly ever see play because I either don't take them on game night or the other players that can make it either can't stand up to it or would get crushed by it. For example my Animar 'ETB cascade' deck can only be played if the other players are running their flagship decks as well. Conversely if its just myself and one of the players with weaker decks I need to run something like Radha werewolves or Jaya Ballard.

Definitely. I have two primary "My Good Decks" decks (Sharuum and Ghave) and then a few more casual less competitive decks (Kaarthus, Ezuri, Rafiq) and then my absurd and silly nonsense deck (Phelddagrif)which ends up being the one I play most often because it is hilarious, and in 4-6 player games does so many amazing things.

I'm also building Obzedat, Krenko, and Cromat right now.

For you lot with multiple EDH decks, do you do the same? That is intentionally having a continuum of power scalability across your suite of decks?

Yeah, I do the same myself. I have 18 decks built with 6 in the pipeline and another 7-8 "slots" available if the right General arrives . They're all over the place power-wise... most are "average", but a couple are combotastic. In addition, 2 are pauper decks and 2 are '95 decks (only cards that were available 1993-95). I also have a zombie horde deck (200 cards, 'cuz more zombies = more fun).

I only have EDH decks now - I broke apart/stripped/raided all my playstock cards to assemble them. In fact I've slowly been dumping my "non-pimp" and Legacy only singles to acquire more bling for my Commander decks. At this point it's all I ever play outside of Prereleases, and truth be told it's probably all I ever will. At 42 I just don't see me jumping back into anything competitive, and I like the "lack of format change" that casual provides (since I don't get to play too often).

Of course, I did hang on to my Vintage stuff... you never know when you might need some moxen
