1. No. If a spell says "target", you can't announce it without one. 2. No. Gigapede can't be targeted, so it isn't a legal target. __________________ You can't cheat an honest man.

is no mercy a targeted ability? Someone at the card shop said it would work on a morphling even if it had the untargetable by spell or ability activated.

No Mercy isn't targeted, so it will kill Morphlings. There's an easy way to tell - look to see if the card says "target." (Older cards did not necessarily say target; once upon a time the rule was that an effect was targeted if its controller could choose what it affected).

ok i have a furnace of rath out, i cast a ball lightning.he only has a kird ape to block. he blocks the kird ape and the ape takes 6 right? so the furnace would make the ape take 6 more for a total of 12? because its trample, then do the 9 remaining trample go throu to deal 18 to the opponet??i am soo confused but i hope this works...lol muhahahahaha.

First, I'm assuming you mean that the Kird Ape is 2/3. The Ball Lighting would get blocked, and you then assign combat damage. Since it has trample, you assign the first 3 damage to the 2/3 Kird Ape, and then 3 trample damage to your opponent. When combat damage resolves, Furnace of Rath makes it deal twice what was assigned. So, the Ape would take 6, and the opponent would take 6.

The elves all lose the bonus when the champion leaves play. So if the elves have lethal damage now that they've lost the bonus, the game notices and destroys them.

Okay sample situation.Opponent at 20 life. I attack with 10 elves and an elvish champion. ALl the elves are 1/1 normally, but 2/2 because of champion. They have 1 3/3 to block. They block champion. You put damage on the stack. 2 from champion goes on their 3/3, 20 from elves goes on player. Damage resolves. Yes, elves shrink back to 1/1. BUT, they already did 20 damage and killed the player. __________________ Tuna's Most Wanted Card Of The Week: Asian BB Balance If you see one, drop me a line. I witnessed an arguement today. I thought I knew the answer, but now I'm confused. I cast Gaea's Blessing. Can my opponent Misdirect it? If he can, who chooses which cards to shuffle?__________________ Do you play Type 1.5? Spelljack: To thin out the deck, and get less late game land draws at the cost of life, which doesn't matter in an aggro deck. However, this is not really an approiate question for the rules thread. And please don't tripple post.Flashbacked spell: It gets removed from the game. Bopper:

quote:
Text (WL+errata): Target player shuffles up to three target cards from his or her graveyard into his or her library. ; Draw a card. ; When ~this~ is put into your graveyard from your library, shuffle your graveyard into your library. [Oracle 1999/07/01]
The first line of rulings says "It targets the player and each of the cards. Thus, it is only a "spell with one target" if you choose to target zero cards. " So unless you target 0 cards with it, you couldn't misdirect it. You declare the target player AND cards at the same time. If the cards happened later, it may be different. That is the tuna ruling on it __________________ Tuna's Most Wanted Card Of The Week: Asian BB Balance If you see one, drop me a line. If I have an Exalted Dragon in play, can I sacrifice a land to it at any time (i. e. during an opponent's turn/ during my upkeep), or do I have to wait for my declaration of attackers to sacrifice the land?

Only when you declare it as an attacker. __________________ You can't cheat an honest man.

Ok the creature from Legions, don't know name, is 3U for a 3/3 and it says that it's every creature type. So it would be a flagebearer, no? It doesn't say just the types in play. __________________ Families without issues...yeah I've heard of those THEY'RE CALLED STRANGERS!I AM the true creator of Mario. ...And he says to me "Let's be buds." It is a flagbearer, yes. Does he have the flagbearer ability, no.

When a licid changes from an enchant creature back to its original creature form, is the licid considered to be coming into play, triggering comes- into- play abilities, or does it simply change forms and fail to trigger comes- into- play abilities?

Person A has a Wild Mongrel in play and a Sylvan Safekeeper. His opponent, person B has a Lightning Rift in play and cycles the card. Now B claims that he can target the Mongrel and person has to make untargetable in response. And if A does, B could choose not to pay the mana of the Lightning Rift. Is this true? And couldn't A make it untargetable when the Rift actually dealt damage?

The Lightning Rift player is correct on both counts. The ability says in part "you may pay 1. If you do, deal 2 damage to target creature or player." This is one ability, and note that the mana payment is not an activation cost. It happens when the ability resolves. Neither player receives priority during the resolution of an ability, so there's no chance to play a new ability like the Safekeeper's after the mana is paid.__________________ DCI certified Level 2 judge gzeiger@hotmail.com

When getting a card from your sideboard via wish does it have to have a sleeve as the rest of your deck?
