Thanks. The only reason I asked this question is because I heard that WoTC errataed the rules again (no surprise) saying that you must pump the creatures before blockers are declared. That may have been either just a rumor or a rule someone made up along the way so he could win a game he would have lost otherwise. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Again, thanks for the help, and I'll probably ask another question in the near future.__________________ Boogidy boogidy boogidy.

rpitcher... surprisingly, i know this one.Player A does not die, they have to be at 0 or less at END OF ANY TURN. Thus, after everything resolves Player A still has life at end of Player B's Turn Pandemonium, I believe you're wrong. I will look it up again, but I am about 90% sure this is how it works out. __________________ "This prayer is for me tonight, This far down that line and still ain't got it right, and while confessions not yet stated, our next sin is comtemplated, never did we know, what the future would hold, or that we were bought and sold, we were innocent..." -From "Innocent", by Fuel

420.2. State-based effects are always active and are not controlled by either player420.3. Whenever a player has priority to play a spell or ability (see rule 408, “Timing of Spells and Abilities”), the game checks for any of the listed conditions for state-based effects. All applicable effects resolve as a single event, then the check is repeated. This check is also made during the cleanup step (see rule 314); if any of the listed conditions apply, the active player receives priority. 420.5. The state-based effects are as follows: 420.5a A player with 0 life or less or who was required to draw more cards than were in his or her library loses the game. These are the relevant rules to rpitcher's question... Pendemonium was right, it triggers the state based effect of player A losing the game which resolves the next time priority is checked, reguardless of later changes in life. 409.1c If the spell or ability requires any targets, the player announces these. It can’t be played unless the required number of legal targets are chosen. Gombies, as blastoderm would be an illegal target for flametounge's ability, it cannot be announced as a target, and so it must choose another(itself in this case) if there is another legal target.

Moorman: I think someone made up that rule, at least under 6E rules creatures can be pumped in response to blockers being declared, before any combat damage is assigned.O.D.T: Player A -does- die, that isn't checked at end of turn but as a statebased effect. In other words, every time before a player gets priority. As for the Forked UR; Pandemonium's right (thanks for pointing that out ;-), I was too hasty with my answer. It -does- get the kicker, but while on the stack it's not an UR yet. Gombies: Flametongue Kavu's CiP ability isn't optional, so you'll have to pick a legal target. If the only creatures in play are a Blastoderm and the Flametongue, the only legal target will be the Flametongue itself. revenger: Yes it can, just like it can be Misdirected/Deflected. The only tricky part in this case is that the new target will usually be the caster of Lobotomy, and that player won't be required to find any card to remove because of the search rule.

Ok, I have a small question:If I cast Final Fortune to get another turn and then at the end of the turn I used for the Final Fortune I cast another Final Fortune, will I lose the game or can I take another turn? You'll lose the game, the delayed triggered ability will kick in at the end of your first extra turn and cause you to lose before you would get the 2nd extra turn.

No, they only tap when they attack unless they say, "Attacking does not cause ~This~ creature to tap." Here's a question for ya: If I have a Stasis out and I play A spiritual Asylum, which says that my lands and creatures can't be the target of spells or abilities, does that mean I can Untap my lands and creatures since they can't be targeted?

I have a creature enchanted with Armadillo Cloak (that creature is now 6/6), and when I' m atacking, defending player blocks with Wall of Shadows. I deal 1 damage to wall, and 5 damage to player. Question 1: can I do that? Question 2: do I gain 6 life? Legolas

let's say I have Thornscape Familiar in play. Then I play Ghitu Fire. Can I then spend 4 mana on X to do 5 damage on target creature or player with the Ghitu Fire? One more question: when I play Gaea's Herald, can it be countered or does it's effect take place when you play him?

Ok what do ya think of this one:I have a Mageta, the Lion in play. Then, I play a Conspiracy naming Radioactive Monkeys (or something stupid like that) Then I play another Mageta. Now, the legends rule would not kill either of them but what happens if next trun I use Mageta's ability. Does the other one die?

Monty - No, you have to remove a different card from the game. Yes you should play Force of Will in an Oath deck.Legolas86 - Yes, you can do that. The trample rule now only requires you to assign damage to the creature equal to its current toughness. You ignore protection effects like the Wall's. However, you will only gain 5 life (from the damage dealt to your opponent). Since the damage dealt to the Wall was prevented, it wouldn't trigger the Cloak. Skimo - Yes, a Familiar reduces the X-component of a casting cost, as well as kicker and buyback costs. Gaea's Herald, like Meddling Mage or any other card that generates a static ability, only has this ability while it is in play. It can be countered. The only exception would be a card that specifically says it has some ability before it has resolved (Scragnoth, Kavu Chameleon, Urza's Rage, Kaervek's Torch, Obliterate). ManaBurn - Neither of these effects is dependent on the other, so they are applied in timestamp order. If Furnace of Rath entered play before Urza's Armor then you will take seven damage; if Urza's Armor entered play first, you will take six. I would appreciate Coolio or somebody taking a look at that - I'm pretty sure I'm right, but it depends on my reading of the definition of dependency. Can someone verify please? hynes22 - No. Tapping a creature is part of a cost to use Kyren Negotiations. Like mana, you can't use the same resource to pay two different costs. However, tapping a Goblin Medic would allow you to deal two damage, since the Medic has a triggered ability rather than an activated one. CoolHomie - Yes, Mageta will kill his buddy. When a card refers to itself it should be read as saying this. So Mageta's ability means 2WW, discard two cards from your hand: destroy all creatures in play except this one. They can't be regenerated. __________________ email me at gzeiger@hotmail.com

Ok here is a question my friend want to ask:He said he have an enchantment and his opponent has no. His opponent cast dismantling blow. the other misdirect the dismantling but does it fizzles or does he have to direct it to himself anyways. and also, if both of em have enchantment one cast dismantling and the other use misdirection to the other does the caster of dismantling draw a card anyways?

The caster of Dismantling Blow is always the one who draws the cards. If there is only one enchantment in play Misdirection will have no effect on the Dismantling Blow. Misdirection may still be cast, since Blow is a legal target, but when Misdirection resolves it will still have to target the same enchantment.

ManaBurn: If two replacement effects contradict eachother, the affected player or the owner of the affected permanent decides in which order to apply them. So basically, you can decide if you'll take 6 or 7 damage. Gzeiger - I think you've confused replacements effects with continuous effects.

I have a Bottomless Pit and a Sunken Hope out at the same time.Bottomless Pit 1BB, Enchantment, Stronghold Uncommon During each player’s upkeep, that player discards a card at random. Sunken Hope 3UU, Enchantment, Planeshift Rare At the beginning of each player’s upkeep, that player returns a creature he or she controls to its owner’s hand. As the controller of these cards, do I choose which happens first on the upkeep phase of my opponent(and myself, for that matter)? Thanks.

If you control both, you will decide the order in which they trigger on both players' turns. Remember that the effects happen in the opposite order that the triggers are placed on the stack.During a player's upkeep, all triggers he or she controls are placed on the stack in the order of that player's choice. Then triggers controlled by an opponent are placed on the stack, in the order of their controller's choice.
