Here's your proof, Tuna. Now shut the hell up.

Question to the Netrep:

quote:
> As worded, Mirari's Wake can produce one mana of any type the land
> *ever* produced, not just in the event on which Mirari's Wake
> triggers.

No. You are being far to literal in reading the card. It only means
what happened in the event that triggered the ability. Anytime a
trigger refers indirectly to something that happened in its trigger
event, it means only in that event.

A question about

1) Astral Slide and Auramancer in play, if my opponent disenchant Astral Slide, I in response cycling a card to remove Auramancer from the game(using Slide's ability), will my Auramancer come back at end of turn and I get back my Astral Slide from graveyard to hand ?

2) If I cast Goblin Pyromancer to give all my Goblin +3/+0, then I cast innocent blood to sacrifice Pyromancer, will my Goblin still get +3/+0 untill end of turn and will all my goblin been destroy by end of turn ?

thanks for help.

Once you remove something with the slide (auramancer) the slide doesn't have to be in play at end of turn for the effect to finish (returning the auramancer to play).

For the pyromancer, it has a delayed triggered ability. The ability triggers at end of turn. If the pyromancer isn't in play at end of turn, it never triggers.

more questions:

1> i spit out an elf token via Volrath's Laboratory. Do i put a +1/+1 counter on my vanguard?

2> I have Goblin Medics enchanted with Sigil of Sleep. i tap to attack and they aren't blocked and the sigil's ability is activated. Since the Medics became tapped, i can deal 1 damage any target. if i choose the opponent, i'm assuming the sigil's ability will acitvate again. am i right?

1. Yes.

2. If you choose to deal the tap damage to your opponent, Sigil of Sleep will trigger both when you declare your attack(thus tapping the Medics), and when it's unblocked combat damage resolves. You have it right, I just want to make clear the fact that the Medic's ability will cause the Sigil to trigger prior to combat damage causing it to trigger.

Short answer: Three times to have the Sharpshooter end up untapped.

Long answer: You block, combat damage is dealt, all three creatures die. When they hit the graveyard, Sharpshooter triggers three times. It's untap ability goes on the stack three times. Before any of them resolve, you respond by dealing one point of damage. Then, let the first untap resolve. At this point there are two untap effects on the stack. Respond by dealing one damage. Let the next untap resolve. Respond by dealing one damage. Let the last untap resolve. You've now dealt three damage, and you have an untapped Sharpshooter.

I am sorry, I feel like an idiot, but I am completely lost on Glory's ability and exactly how it works. Several questions...

1) If someone blocks my creature, can I discard Glory to Tireless Tribe, activate it from the graveyard, and call the color of their blocker, all in response, to avoid being blocked?

2) For the above question, what if Glory's already in the grave before combat? Does that make a difference?

3) What if someone tries an Astral Slide? Can I discard a Glory and call prowhite in response to a slide?

Someone just explain everything about this card. I have gotten into several arguments with playtesting partners recently and need an overall summary of how this works...

1) No. Once a creature has been blocked, it stays blocked even if it gains protection or evasion. Your creature simply won't take any damage from the blocking creature.

2) That depends. If you activate Glory naming the color of your opponent's creatures before they declare blockers, then they will be unable to block your creatures. If you activate it after they block, it is the same situation as in 1). If they have creatures of multiple colors, you can activate Glory as many times as you have mana for, naming a different color each time.

3) Yes. Say, for example, somebody targets your Wild Mongrel with Astral Slide's ability. In response, you discard Glory to Wild Mongrel. Still in response, you activate Glory, naming white. Then you let Slide's ability try to resolve; It finds that it's target has gained protection and it fizzles (gets countered upon resolution).

All you really need to know are the rules about protection and that Glory's ability is available at instant speed.

Protection: A creature with Protection from X prevents damage from X-colored sources, prevents it from being enchanted by X-colored enchantments, prevents X-colored spells and abilities from targetting it (remember, targets are checked on delcaration and resolution), and it can't be blocked by X-colored creatures (remember, once something is blocked, it stays blocked, so giving it protection afterwards doesn't help in that regard).

Glory: If you can respond to a spell or ability by putting Glory in the Graveyard, you can respond again to that spell or ability by activating Glory.

Hope that helps,
FyreStar

Text (JU): Creatures you control get +1/+1. ; Whenever you tap a land for mana, add one mana to your mana pool of any type that land produced.

I am always wrong on stupid mirari's wake rulings. But as far as I know, it is a triggered ability. Tap the land, add 1 extra mana. It must be the land's original color, because wild growth does not produce the extra mana, it just is added to your mana pool.

This is why wild growth is bad in wake decks, and verge is good.

it's good in enchantress though

you're right btw, I just read this ruling:

* The additional {G} is not a valid choice for Mana Flare and similar cards. This mana is produced by a triggered ability. [DeLaney 1999/08/10]

If mana maze is in play, can a blue spell be countered with a blue spell?...or does the mana maze only refer to successfully cast blue spells?

I am from the sticks.. and NO one plays oath here.

Anyways, am I correct that when oathing if you hit a blessing, you just wait for the oath to finish finding something, and then do the blessing effect and shuffle?

quote:

f Gaea's Blessing is moved into the graveyard by an effect, it is dealt with as a triggered ability. This means you wait for the next appropriate time before shuffling your graveyard into your library.

Yup. Oath finishes resolving, either putting a creature in play or throwing your whole library in the graveyard, and then the Blessing trigger goes on the stack. You can let it resolve or respond to it(by, say, suiciding the creature you just got so your second Oath of Druids pulls up another creature) just like any other triggered ability.

Can you use infected vermin's ability on another player's turn?

if so, can you use it twice if you have the mana or would it be dead from the one point and unable to use the ability twice?

Yes - the Orgg says you may assign damage to any creature that player controls.

If I have to draw cards due to an X spell (Stroke, 'geyser, prosperity, etc.) for, say 5, and have a persuit of knowledge in play, can I put three counters on the Pursuit and only draw two?

I have a Phyrexian Tyranny and Cadaverous Bloom in play. I cast prosperity for whatever. Do I draw all of the cards at the same time, or can I discard the previously draw card to the Cadaverous Bloom so not to take damage fromt the Phyrexian Tyranny?

Just to be clear, when a creature has trample, you assign enough damage to kill the creature blocking it, and assign the rest (the spill-over) to the player. If you assign all 7 damage to the creature, the creature will take 7 damage and the player will take none.

Yes and yes. You can play the Vermin's ability, then respond to that by playing it again, over and over as many times as you have mana for. The first actual damage will kill it, but any other activations will still deal damage afterwards.

Go Shanahan!

1) Yes.

2) You cast Prosperity for 10 with Cadaverous Bloom and Phyrexian Tyranny in play. It resolves and you and your opponent both draw 10 cards. Tyranny triggers 20 times(you don't pay mana or life until the triggers resolve). Once all the triggers are on the stack, you can respond by removing cards from your hand via Bloom to make mana, and use that mana to pay for Tyranny.

Basically, you draw all the cards at once, and all the Tyranny triggers go on the stack at once after you've drawn the cards. So, while you can't pay for it card by card, you can pay for it by pitching as many cards as you drew to Bloom in response to the Tyranny triggers.
